We're getting married!

Like all love stories, ours has warmth in its core. In the summer of 2009, when I asked my friend Jackie if she could introduce me to one of her friends, she could not have foreseen that she would be laying the foundation for what would become our family. Lisa and I became virtual friends for a while before finally meeting at a house party on the 4th of July. When we discovered that our workplace was only steps away, it became our cue to visit each other spontaneously and have the many lunch dates that preceded our engagement. After almost a year of threading life’s path together on January 9th, 2010, I officially asked her to be my girlfriend, and she accepted.

It was a surreal moment for me, and it happened nine years after meeting the love of my life — perfect timing if you ask me. We had made plans to own a home together and had just got the keys. I was a little amused when he asked if we could take a stroll instead of driving up to the house. I had thought it was one of those moments when he wanted us to experience first sights together — and it turned out that it was! As we approached the driveway, I could make out some images and was quite astonished to find our family and friends at the front door holding up the question his eyes were asking already “Will you marry me?" Of course, I said YES. For me, it was always going to be the answer.
