Travel Note
Whidbey Island is an absolutely beautiful place to visit in the summer, but we recommend saving ample time to travel. You can access Whidbey Island by taking the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry or by driving around. If you take the ferry, the venue in Freeland is about a 20-minute drive from the Ferry landing in Clinton. Driving around takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Everett area. Most days ferries run every half hour, but this can change, and in the summer months lines can be long. Please follow the link below to see the schedule for the day. We will update this website with any other information if ferries will be impacted. If you are able, we would recommend getting in the ferry line no later than 2:00. This will accommodate for any lines or ferry issues and will likely allow you time to enjoy the island on your way to the wedding. See our recommendations below about things to do on your way to the wedding! :)
Travel Note
August is a beautiful time to visit Whidbey Island, so if you want to come early to address potential ferry issues or just to take full advantage of the beauty of Whidbey Island, consider stopping in Langley on your way to the wedding. We have included the link to the Langley Chamber of Commerce. There are wonderful places for lunch, shopping, and beautiful places to stay overnight as well. Langley is about 10 minutes from the Clinton ferry landing. It is also on the way to Freeland (where the wedding is being held), so it is an ideal stop. Langley is known as "the Village by the Sea" because of its waterfront location. It overlooks breathtaking views of Saratoga Passage and the Cascade mountains. Definitely worth the visit!
