How We Met

February 8, 2016

We met on the dating app, Bumble. Naturally, our first date involved margaritas and tacos. I thought it was going well, until Peter left without even giving me a hug because he was so excited that his Uber was a Ford F-150 pick up truck. (This still confuses me.) I was convinced I'd never see him again, but Peter kept the conversation going over text, even texting me "Happy Valentine's Day" a few days later (which I thought was a bit forward of him, to be honest) and we eventually had a second date about a week later. We kept our relationship going in DC for about 6 months, and then starting long distance for a little over a year when Peter moved to Peru, back to Boston, and then NYC. Eventually, I made the move to NYC in October of 2017 and couldn't be happier about the life we have created together, and with Samson.

The Proposal

December 4, 2018

If you know me well, you would probably expect that I would plan my own engagement. What can I say...I'm a planner in my day job and in my life! Well, it just so happens that unbeknownst to me, I technically did plan my engagement :) My sister Cara, and her boyfriend Bryan, were visiting NYC for the weekend and we had a full day of plans ahead of us. Since we had Samson and Cara's dog, Olive, staying with us, we knew they needed a good walk before we headed out for the day. I suggested we take the dogs to Washington Square Park early Saturday morning. Cut to Peter telling Bryan "oh perfect, I think I'm going to propose then." We grabbed coffees and walked to the park on a beautiful, crisp sunny day. As we got to the park, Bryan pulled Cara away to "look at the fountain" which prompted Cara to say "why are we looking at a fountain with no water in it?" I would probably be thinking the same thing. Anyways, Peter walked me to the arch and got down on one knee, with Samson by his side, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said yes, and could not imagine a more perfect proposal for us. We spent the rest of the day celebrating at brunch, a brewery, a jazz bar, and a wonderful dinner at our favorite neighborhood spot. It truly was one of the best days of our lives.

About Our Wedding

We wanted a wedding that truly felt like "us" so we have decided to celebrate by throwing one of the greatest dinner parties of all time, followed by a "house party" after-party back at the hotel. You won't find your typical dancing reception here, but we hope you have just as much fun eating pasta, drinking wine, and partying late into the night with us in the city that never sleeps.

For all the days along the way
