When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask you to provide RSVP confirmation for EACH event: the Hindu ceremony, the Sangeet/Garba, the Catholic ceremony, and the reception/dinner by SATURDAY, JANUARY 31, 2026. This is found at the RSVP tab above and on our website home page.

Friday 3/27/26: Hindu baraat starts at 4:30 PM, Hindu ceremony starts at 5:00 PM, Sangeet starts at 7:00 PM Saturday 3/28/26: Catholic ceremony starts at 2:00 PM, Catholic reception & dinner starts at 6:00 PM

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Hindu ceremony/Garba/Sangeet: Indian attire is encouraged along with colorful cocktail attire Catholic ceremony/reception: Black tie optional

Do you have hotel options?

Answer

We have a block of rooms reserved for the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago. This is the location of the Hindu ceremony and across the street from The University Club, where the Catholic reception will be held. Please go to the Hotel & Travel page for the Palmer House Hilton hotel block. Transportation will be provided for guests of the Palmer House Hotel to Old St. Mary's Catholic Church and to The University Club after the ceremony on Saturday. The distance to both locations is approximately 10 minutes. There are many other hotels in downtown Chicago close to the venues, including the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown, and Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop - Theatre District, Ivy Boutique Hotel, Arlo Chicago, The St. Regis Chicago, and The Gwen. Other nearby options are budget-friendly like Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-Downtown, Residence Inn Chicago Downtown/River North, and Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown/River North.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the Catholic ceremony?

Answer

Yes, there will be transportation from The Palmer House. Please arrive by (TIME), the bus will leave promptly at (TIME) for the Catholic ceremony at Old St. Mary's Church.

Is there parking for the ceremonies and receptions?

Answer

The Palmer House Hilton offers both valet parking at its Monroe Street entrance and access to the 55 East Monroe Street Parking Garage for self-parking. The valet option is available 24/7 at the hotel's main entrance, while the self-parking garage is a partner facility located directly across the street from the hotel. Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chicago has two on-site parking lots, one between the church and school and another accessible from Wabash Avenue. Are children welcome?

We can only accommodate children in our immediate families for both the Hindu ceremony and Sangeet/Garba. We respectfully request the Catholic ceremony and reception are adult-only occasions.
