Triangle Pop-Up Market

Great pop-up market with local artists most Saturday afternoons from 11am - 4pm! Check their website for the latest markets or visit their Curate store at Crabtree Mall or in Downtown Raleigh.

Bar Virgile

Great burger spot and bar in downtown Durham. Food recs: any of the burgers.

Duke Gardens

Gorgeous views and free gardens (may have to pay for parking).

Juju

Solid Asian fusion spot in Durham. Food rec: pulled beef short rib wonton & bing

William B. Umstead State Park

We love hiking at this state park that's a quick drive from our home. Trails rec: Sals Branch Trail & Reedy Creek Lake Multiuse Trail

La Recette Patisserie

You're going to drive to this sketchy strip mall and wonder where the heck you are, but tucked behind the shopping center is this sweet lil patisserie with the best baked goods (sweet and savory) you'll ever find. You won't regret it. Foods recs: literally anything; the menu rotates but you can't go wrong.

Lake Crabtree County Park

Our favorite county park!

It's a Southern thing

If you're looking for good comfort food, look no further. We've only been for dinner but we've heard the bunch is great too. Food rec: Blackened Chicken Baked Mac & Cheese & Crispy Catfish

State Farmers Market

Massive farmers market in Raleigh with everything from produce, plants, baked goods, local crafts, etc. They also have a restaurant that will give you biscuits the size of your face and it just melts in your mouth.

92 Chicken

The best Korean fried chicken in town. Also located in a sketchy strip mall across from La Recette and is more of a to-go place rather than sit-in. Food recs: soy garlic wings with spring onion & side of kimchi
