So glad you asked! The celebration will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at The Cookery (1101 W Chapel Hill St.) in Durham, NC from 12 - 4pm.
Yes! There will be plenty of complimentary parking lots near the venue, as well as street parking. The parking map above shows you all the different areas that you can park. We recommend carpooling or Uber/Lyft if you can. 1. Street Parking on West Chapel Hill Street: There is street parking available along West Chapel Hill Street directly across from The Cookery. This is often the closest option and fills first. 2. Street Parking on Carroll Street: Additional street parking can be found along Carroll Street, located directly beside The Cookery building. 3. Ingold Tire Lot: A nearby lot is located just across West Chapel Hill Street in the Ingold Tire parking area. This lot is a short walk from the venue and provides additional capacity for guests. 4. Emily K Center Parking Lot: Guests may also park at the Emily K Center lot, which is accessible from West Chapel Hill Street near South Buchanan Boulevard. This lot is slightly farther but still within easy walking distance of the venue. All of these locations are highlighted on the parking map for reference. 5. Adam's Parking Lot: Located across the street from The Cookery this is an unused lot great for any spill over parking. 6. Durham Co-Op: Located one block down from The Cookery on West Chapel Hill Street, this lot is for the grocery store and a number of Duke Offices closed on Sunday's. Although not on the map, both are safe and nearby parking options.

Lion dancing is a lively performance where dancers bring a colorful lion costume to life—one working the head, the other the tail—while moving to the beat of drums, gongs, and cymbals. This Vietnamese cultural experience is all about spreading good luck, chasing away bad vibes, and bringing big energy and fun to our celebration.
