Best Man
We met through our mutual friend Chwan about 15 years ago. He's a solid brother in Christ and a close friend since the early years of my walk with the Lord. Attending and serving at the Chinese Bible Church of MD's VA small group bonded us as brothers, but our love for anime and horror movies was our past time.
Groomsman
One of my oldest friendships. We first met in 2000 while working together at Saturday Matinee at Fair Oaks Mall. His brain is a horror movie, rock band, & metal band encyclopedia.
Groomsman
Ryan and I first met and bonded over life and horror movies at my first CBCM young adults retreat.
Groomsman
Early memories of Mike was getting late night chicken wings PHO HOT in Annandale chatting about life. Then working and serving alongside him in the Hearts for DC homeless outreach ministry.
Groomsman
Angelo has been a dear brother ever since 2006 -2007 when he graciously opened his home to host a young adults fellowship event. He is now a wonderful father of 3 kids.
Groomsman
We met over 8 years ago, serving the Hearts for DC Homeless outreach ministry at Chinese Bible Church of MD.
Maid of Honor
I first met Sunah during my freshman year at JMU. I remember thinking she looked Native American when we first met (hehe). We were roommates for one year and had so many hilarious memories together at 1230E Mountain View. Sunah was also a huge support to me emotionally and spiritually when my mother unexpectedly passed away during college. I think back on our nights of prayers and heart to heart talks together with such gratefulness and fondness. I appreciate my friendship with Sunah because she's not afraid to tell me the truth in love and completely accept me for who I am-all the good and ugly parts. I admire Sunah for her heart that is always quick to love and serve others. I am so grateful for her friendship through the years and so honored to call her my maid of honor!
Bridesmaid
I have probably known Sarah the longest out of all of my bridesmaids. I remember meeting her the summer before middle school at a Korean prep school (hakwon). We hit it off from then and attended not only the same middle and high school, but the same college as well! We were also roommates in college for 3 years at our 1230E Mountain View apartment. We also attended ACF together. I remember her praying so fervently for me and lifting me up in my times of discouragement, loss, and sorrow. She has a beautiful gift of listening and empathy. She's also hilarious and and I love her quirkiness. Her heart for God has stayed constant and she is a fiery prayer warrior! She's also probably Johnson's biggest fan :) I'm grateful and honored to have her as my bridesmaid!
Bridesmaid
I also met Hyemi during our middle school days. I remember her having a cheerful and joyful spirit, which still remains to this day. I was not much of a Christian during high school, but Hyemi had prayed that I would have a relationship with Jesus. It's amazing that God used Hyemi's prayer to bring me to Him! She moved in as one of my roommates about 4 years ago and It's been so much fun to grow closer to her in this way--sharing meals together, ranting about work, and wondering when we would get married :) Hyemi has a kind and gentle heart, full of compassion and love. One cool fact about her is that she's trilingual--English, Korean, and Japanese. She's been a huge support for me in so many ways throughout the years and am so honored to have her stand by me on our big day!
Bridesmaid
I first met Briana at JMU as we connected over sharing the same heart of prayer for revival on our campus. From girl talks, Christian conferences, to weekends at her family's beach house, there have been many precious memories throughout the years. I have been so blessed by Briana's loving and loyal heart. She is always thinking of others before herself and it spurs me to do the same. She is also a wonderful listener and I feel that I can talk to her about anything. She's been an amazing support to Johnson and I during dating, engagement and now wedding planning! She is married to her wonderful husband, Nic, and now mommy to beautiful baby girl Aria! I'm so excited for her and all that's to come in her life. I'm so honored to have her stand with me on our wedding!
Bridesmaid
Sonia is truly one of a kind and probably the most unique person I know :) I met her while I was at JMU, when she was living in the town of Harrisonburg. She used to often refer me as her "first Korean friend." I remember being so amazed by her hilarious personality that is full of word puns and how she can be so raw and real at the same time. She carries a sense of deep compassion for others-if you're crying to her, then she cries with you. Even though she lives in North Carolina, I feel like we can always just pick up where we last left off. She's been a constant source of encouragement for me and is always cheerleading me on to Christ. She is now married to Patrick and mommy to sweet baby girl Olivia! I truly cherish my friendship with Sonia and blessed to have her stand with me!
Bridesmaid
I've known Sylvia the shortest amount of time compared to the other maids, but I truly feel like she is a soul sister to me :) We first met about 4 years ago while attending Nova HOP together and from those early moments I knew that I had found a lifelong friend. We could relate so well to each other through our past life experiences and I was amazed by her beautiful heart and kindness. I so appreciate the times that she's encouraged and prayed for me. She has also been a great support to Johnson and I. She loves to plan and is probably more excited for my wedding planning than I am :) Sylvia is married to her husband Josh and they have a beautiful boy named Elijah. I'm so honored to call her my bridesmaid and to have her stand with me!
