Things To Do

Whether you're a Bay Area native, visiting from out of town, or something in between, here are some of our recommendations for things to do near the wedding venues!

Oakland Museum of California

1000 Oak Street, Oakland, CA 94607

One of our most memorable dates was when we spent hours at "Friday Nights at OMCA." We arrived in the early afternoon, walked around the exhibits, picked up some dinner at the food trucks and enjoyed it on the museum lawn listening to the live music. Then went back to see the rest of the exhibits since the museum stays open late on Fridays in the summer!

Jack London Square

472 Water Street, Oakland, CA 94607

This is one of our favorite Oakland hang out spots! Day or night, it's a nice place to stroll along the Bay Trail, have some seafood, and enjoy the views. We often default to getting ice cream at Ben & Jerry's and sitting on the Ferry Lawn to watch the ships go by at sunset.

Bonsai Garden

650 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610

Nestled deep in Oakland's botanical garden, the Bonsai Garden is a nice place to disconnect from the city and connect with our tree relatives.

Angel Island

Tiburon, CA 94920

If you plan to explore outside of Oakland before or after the wedding, we highly recommend Angel Island! The ferry ride from San Francisco has wonderful views and the island is a great spot to hike, have a picnic lunch, and sit at the beach overlooking the beautiful Bay Area skylines. (Just be sure to plan the day out so you don't miss the last ferry back to the city! We had a close call on this once...)
