Hawaii is an archipelago of 137 islands located in the South Pacific. There are 8 main islands, but you can only visit 6 of the Islands- Hawaii (aka Big Island), Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Lanai, and Molokai. You cannot visit the islands of Niihau or Kahoolawe. All of these islands were created from volcanic eruptions in the sea floor. Polynesians discovered and settled across the islands thousands of years ago. Of the 1.5 million people that live across the Hawaiian Islands today, nearly 1 million people live on Oahu, the 3rd largest island. Honolulu, the state capital, major city, and county is located on Oahu. Like most independent countries, The Kingdom of Hawaii has a long complicated history. In 1959, Hawaii became the 50th state in the United States of America.

We know some people will have time-shares, award travel and other discount programs to use for their lodging. We want everyone to do whatever is most cost-effective for our guests. We do recommend you stay in the Waikiki area for our wedding weekend.
