Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES!!! If you haven't traveled internationally before, don't worry, getting a passport is pretty easy (google how to get a passport [in your state] and tons of helpful links will come up). Please contact your local post office and/or Love to Travel if you need assistance obtaining a passport. DON'T DELAY applying for your passport as the process can take anywhere from 6-10 weeks.

Are there any international entry fees?

Answer

Yes, the Dominican Republic has a $10 per person international fee due upon entry into the country. The travel agency will provide that information with your travel documents and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND you pre-pay prior to travel so you don't have to wait in the long lines upon arrival at the Punta Cana airport.

When should I RSVP?

Answer

EXTENDED to May 22, 2018! - It's VERY important that you RSVP by Tuesday, May 22nd as that's the day we'll drop the last unused rooms from our group room block at the resort. Please feel free to book your travel at anytime by contacting http://www.lovetotravel.com/ to pay your deposit and secure your room.

What are the exact travel dates?

Answer

Here are the recommended travel dates based on the schedule of wedding events, but please feel free to arrive/depart on any days/times that work well for you (and your budget). Thurs 8/2 (Day 1) - Travel to Punta Cana / Check-in and explore all the resort has to offer Fri 8/3 (Day 2) - Relax by the pool/beach all day, grab some dinner at one of the resort's amazing restaurants, then join us for a Welcome Reception bonfire on the beach. Sat 8/4 (Day 3) - Relax or if you prefer adventure, join us for a Catamaran Cruise around the coast! Sun 8/5 (Day 4) - WEDDING DAY! Mon 8/6 (Day 5) - Sleep in and probably recover from a hangover! ;-) Tues 8/7 (Day 6) - Join us for a farewell brunch before you leave Again, feel free to come earlier/later than the suggested dates above. As long as you are there on Sunday, August 5, you'll be able to share our special day with us (and we GREATLY appreciate it)!

Approximately how much should I expect to spend on travel & accommodations?

Answer

To give you an idea on how to budget for this trip, we've provided price estimates from Love to Travel (our partner destination wedding agency) for an All-Inclusive 5-night or 7-night stay at Dreams Palm Beach Resort & Spa. For an amazing beach vacation, a couple (2 adults) should budget between $2,500-$3,000 including flights, hotel (all you can eat/drink), ground transfers and trip insurance (insurance is not required). The price varies depending on which room category you choose and how many nights you stay. Please visit our Travel tab for additional information.

When should I book? What is the booking process? How much is the deposit?

Answer

You should book as soon as possible to guarantee the best rates. The process is very simple, please contact Love to Travel. You will provide them your desired travel dates, persons attending, preferred room type, etc. and they will send you back the total cost. If everything looks correct as far as the number of people/travelers names/rooms/travel dates/etc., you pay a $50 deposit per person to hold the resort or a $300 deposit per person to hold the resort AND airfare rates. (At this point, even if airfare rates increase, your rates wont change, they will be locked in and guaranteed, which is why it's better to book sooner, rather than later.) Do I have to purchase trip insurance?

Answer

No, it's not required, but we recommend it. For approx $140 per person (5 night stay or longer), you can cancel for ANY reason with no penalties and your total trip amount is fully refundable (both resort & airfare). In the off-chance that something should prevent you from taking this trip or if severe weather should occur, you will have peace of mind knowing you'll get all your money back.

Do I have to book through your travel agency?

Answer

You are not required to book through our partner agency, Love to Travel, however, it greatly benefits us if you do. It also makes logistics a lot easier if all our guests use Love to Travel because we've worked with them on several aspects of our destination wedding so they know the ins and outs of our wedding week. If for some reason you find a better price on Expedia or another "deals" website, please screenshot and send directly to them so that they can try to price-match. They guarantee competitive rates and pride themselves on providing the lowest group rates available. Please Note: although very rare, sometimes if resorts overbook, they'll walk overflow guests to another resort, often those who've booked through Expedia/Travelocity or other deal websites. Through Love to Travel, we have a "no-walk policy" meaning that guests who've booked through our agency room block WILL NOT have to worry about any overbooking issues and will be guaranteed OUR resort no matter what.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! Our resort is not only All-Inclusive, it's Family Friendly! There are plenty of things for kids to do, including the Explorer's Club - a fully supervised children's program with lots of fun activities. There's also a Teens Club and a wide variety of beach, land and water activities for all ages. Please Note: If you want just one night out kid-free to enjoy a romantic dinner for two, babysitting can be scheduled through the concierge with reservations required at least 24 hours in advance. It's $15 per hour/per child.

Can I bring a date? Can I extend the invitation to additional people?

Because of space limitations, we would prefer if it was just you.

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, in addition to a ZOLA online wedding registry, we are also registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond (both registries can be accessed directly through the registry tab of this website).

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

You don't need to worry about this as all guests will ride to the ceremony together (the shuttle bus departs from the front lobby entrance at 3:45pm).

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Think "elegant beach wedding"—so dress to impress, but also dress for the elements (sun, sand and water). Anything you'd wear to a nice restaurant on a summer night is appropriate. Men should re-think ties, the average temperature at 4:30pm (our ceremony time) is 85 degrees. Linen or khaki pants or whatever you feel comfortable in on the beach should work great, just please no actual beachwear or swimwear. Also, I know women love to rock those high heels, but stilettos and sand don't really mix so I'd recommend sandals.
