The reformed church of Luna de Sus was built in the 13th century by Catholic Saxon colonists. After the Reformers took over the church, it went through several transformations. To name a few, the vaulted ceiling was dismantled and the walls were whitewashed. Lőrinc Umling, best known carpenter in the Kalotaszeg region of Transylvania, redid the ceiling with 120 (8x15 cm) color painted cassettes in 1752. Almost every box of the giant ceiling is unique and the decorations contain floral motifs or themed drawings. On the central emblem of the pulpit crown one can decipher the year 1750. The church tower was built in 1802 and the organ was made in 1826 in Oradea in the workshops of the famous Országh factory. In the same year the choir, where the instrument was mounted, was built. Once one enters the church their eyes are attracted by colorful frescoes. These were discovered under the lime in 2009 and some restoration work has been done to bring up these paintings.
