We fully recognize that 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and that there is still a large degree of uncertainty regarding the future. We have decided to proceed as planned with our wedding and hold a small gathering at our venue instead of postpone. We will be live-streaming the ceremony for all guests who are unable to attend. While our wedding may not be what we originally planned, we do hope that we will still be able to celebrate our day with you. That being said, we completely understand if you are unable to join us in person. Agreeing to attend an indoor, in-person gathering is a HUGE ask of our guests and your safety comes first, plain and simple. If you have any specific questions or concerns, let us know. Please see below on how we are making this event COVID-safe!
We will, of course, be following all CDC and NYS safety guidelines and have been diligently working with our venue and vendors to ensure they are doing the same. We are both planning to get tested for COVID-19 before the wedding and encourage you to do so too! Additionally: -Face coverings must be worn at all times unless seated for dinner. -Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available on every table. -Food & drink will be served by masked & gloved Bear Mountain staff. -We have exclusive use of the Merry Go Round room on our wedding day. No one will have been in the event space prior to us. -(Optional) touchless temperature checks upon entry. -Reduced seating capacity at tables to give everyone more space. -We will seat all guests with people they know, to avoid the "stranger" factor. -Socially distanced ceremony seating. -As of now, dancing is prohibited per NYS. Stay tuned for some fun activities instead!
YES! We will be streaming our ceremony as a Zoom event. If you are unable to attend in person, we'd love for you to watch and be involved in real time! See the Event Details page for the link, which will go live when our ceremony begins.
Due to the ongoing regulations regarding COVID-19 and indoor gathering sizes put in place by the State of New York, unfortunately we are strictly limited in the number of guests that can attend. Only those named on the invitation will be able to attend. This (naturally) includes your dog-child.
At this time, no. We have not hired a transportation agency due social distancing requirements.
If you are staying at the Bear Mountain Inn or the Stone Cottages, you will not need a car to transport you from the venue to your hotel room. If you are staying at a hotel offsite, ride service may be available, although you may have a tough time getting a car to take you back to your hotel after the event due to the location of our venue. For this, we recommend scheduling a private taxi service 24-48 hours in advance to pick you up. You should not encounter issues securing car service from the Peekskill Metro North station to the Bear Mountain Inn during daytime hours, but we suggest scheduling a car in advance.
Casual ("smart") cocktail attire, please! Sweaters/cardigans with neckties OK. Our ceremony and reception will be held in the same room (indoors) so no need to fret the December weather. Coat racks will be available. Masks or similar face coverings will be required at all times when not seated for dinner.
Our ceremony and reception will be in the Merry-Go-Round Pavilion / Bear Mountain Carousal, across the lawn from the Main Lodge and near the ice skating rink.
Guests can park in parking lot #2 near the Merry Go Round and ice rink. There is a parking fee of $10 (cash) per vehicle if you arrive before 5:00 pm. Parking after 5:00 pm is free. Parking for hotel guests is also free. Hotel guests can park in lot #1 next to the main Inn.
Of course! However, we ask that no photos be taken during the ceremony - that's what we hired a professional photographer for! Please use our hashtag #Lipartyof2 when you post so we can find your pics afterwards.
Hors d'Oeuvres will be served immediately following the ceremony during the cocktail hour. Afterwards, there will be a buffet-style dinner with several food options. A full open bar will also be available throughout the evening. Food and drink will be served by masked and gloved venue staff to avoid cross-contamination. Due to mask-wearing requirements, food and drink can only be consumed when seated at your table for dinner.
