Reception Cancelled

Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic as well as the NHL's schedule, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming wedding reception for Summer of 2021, and we will not be rescheduling. We want to thank everyone for all the love and support we have received over the last six months, and as we continue to navigate newly-wed life amidst this pandemic. We hope you all continue to stay safe in 2021, and hope to see you in the near future!

2006-2009: Linsey and Matt met for the first time in 6th grade math class. Instantly, Linsey fell in love and sent her task force of friends to ask Matt out for her (in true middle school fashion). He “willingly” said yes, only to break up with Linsey 4 hours later on instant messenger (AIM). Throughout their middle school years, Linsey and Matt talked occasionally and had a few classes together, although that was the extent of the friendship. After leaving Central Middle School, Matt went on to attend high school at Catholic Central and Linsey would go to Canton High School. 2011-2013: Fast forward to Junior year of high school when Matt transferred to Canton High School. In a twist of fate, the day before classes are to start, he unexpectedly gets switched into the same math class as Linsey (once again). That moment of walking into class and asking to sit by Linsey would be the spark for everything else to come. Matt and Linsey developed a strong friendship that mostly consisted of Linsey tutoring him in Math, and in July of 2012, Matt asked her to be his girlfriend. 2013-Present day: Matt and Linsey graduated high school in 2013 and while Linsey went on to college at Grand Valley, Matt pursued a year of junior hockey in Indianapolis, followed by three years of college hockey at Michigan Tech. While the distance was trying, they made the most of spending holidays today, spring break, and the summer vacations. Linsey has now finished her Masters in Occupational Therapy, and Matt in playing in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings, living out the life together they’ve dreamed about since high school. And it will forever be the running joke that Linsey is getting to marry the love of her life from all the way back in 2006, who broke up with her over AIM. Some people truly are soul mates.
