Linette's happy place! Linette grew up going El Yunque, and couldn't wait to show Patience when she visited. El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, and one of Puerto Rico's most beloved natural gems.
The Luquillo Kiosks (Kioskos de Luquillo) are a a row of around 60 family-owned kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenir. Wonderful food, wonderful drinks, wonderful people!
Kayaking Puerto Rico allowed us to enjoy a fun night at the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo! With only 4 in the world, Puerto Rico hosts 2 of 4 bays known for their bioluminescence. This sparkle in the water is produced by the dinoflagellate Pyrodinium bahamense, which glows blue when agitated. Kayaking AND science, our favorite. :P
January 18-21 is the same weekend as the San Sebastian street festival in Old San Juan! This 4-day festival celebrates 54 years of tradition, that "closes" the Christmas season in Puerto Rico, considered the longest in the world! You won't be able to visit Old San Juan, unless you're ready to brave the large crowds of peoples ready to have a good time. OSJ will be full of dancers, pleneros, vejigantes, street food, artisans, and more!
Horseback riding, go-carts, ATVs.
