Like a lot of modern couples, we first "met" each other on a dating app, but we actually met in person a few weeks later when I magically showed up at Bryce's church (long story...). We then decided to meet up at a favorite local brewery to get to know each other a little better, not really expecting to have much in common and mostly just giving it a shot because it would be awkward if we didn't. What happened next surprised us both as we fell into natural conversation and easy laughter. We quickly realized there might actually be something really special between us and have enjoyed every day together since! Our dogs, Tucker and Duke, still have things to work out in their relationship, but Bryce and I are certain that what we've found in each other is an incredible gift from a God who loves us a lot and had this story planned out for quite some time.
At some point we turned into that couple who celebrates every monthiversary since our first date, so when our first real anniversary came around, we wanted to make it memorable. Last minute plans came together to be able to get away from the quarantine routine and spend a long weekend in Savannah. Little did either of us know that a beautiful ring would arrive on Bryce's doorstep the day before we left. (Ok, I'll be honest. I did pick out the ring so I knew a little bit, but had no idea he already bought it.) Bryce remained surprisingly calm, despite the new bling packed away in his suitcase. He began handing me a series of cards with thoughtful notes written inside at different points throughout the weekend, giving me all the feels, but not tipping me off to anything else because he is pretty sweet after all. Exactly one year after our first date and in the middle of a perfect weekend, Bryce gave me the last card as we sat down in Emmet Park and asked me to marry him. At first I said, "Wait, what's happening right now??"...and then I said "Yes, of course!"
