How does a professional musician and a full-time recruiter meet? A DATING APP! HER: I was leisurely scrolling through Bumble one day and saw a handful of matches. One of these matches only had a few minutes left for me to respond. I looked through his pictures, and then read his profile and thought, 'sure... why not? He's cute and put some thought into his bio. I'll say 'hello'." This man immediately sent me a message right back and we began to strike up an actual conversation. I couldn't believe it. Here was a man who asked questions about me and wanted to get to know me. He wasn't too pushy and seemed very genuine and sweet. We had our first date 2 week later at Coco's Italian Grill and went and had a night cap at Tailgate Brewery afterwards... it was almost instantly that I knew I loved him and he was the one. The rest, as they say, is history! HIM: There I was at home one night swiping left on the same cookie cutter versions of woman till I stumbled across a profile that stuck out. She had pictures of her and her adorable dogs, no drunken selfies doing duck face and actually wrote a bio about herself. So naturally I swiped right and waited...and waited...and was almost out of time when finally, ding, you have a new message. I probably should have waited a few days and played it cool, but thats not my style and messaged back right away. After that we started talking more and more. Through our conversations I felt like I had known this girl forever. I had never felt so comfortable with someone in my life. A few weeks later, we finally had our first date. She was understanding of the craziness of my schedule when most others would have bailed. We had a great date at Cocoa’s Italian Market and a drink at Tailgate and before you know it we were dating and for the first time in my life I found someone I wanted forever with.

9.20.2019 We had really been itching to take a a real vacation. Joe hadn't been on a proper vacation in over 10 years, and I hadn't traveled anywhere longer than 2 days in over 2 years. We decided on the month for vacation first: September. Now we had to figure out where in the world would have great weather and have a beautiful ocean view. We ultimately deiced on Maui, Hawaii. If you know Lindsey, then you know when she travels she makes a spreadsheet of things to do and reservations. She and Joe decided on booking a sunrise hike up Haleakala, the largest dormant volcano on Maui. We arrived early on the top at 4:30AM. It was 40 degrees, but felt more like minus 40 degrees. As the sun started to rise, the tribe came out of the Welcome Center Post dressed in full Hawaiian clothing and began to chant and pray. The final words the leader said was 'You'll always remember this day. This is your sunrise, this is your day!" Joe and I immediately began to well up with tears in our eyes as it was such a beautiful way to begin our day. As the sun rose about the clouds I began to take way too many pictures. We had stayed for about 30 minutes after sunrise, and seemingly all of the 200+ people began to disappear from around us (this wasn't planned). Joe told me that we probably needed to get going, and I said I wanted to shoot a few more pictures. He told me he was going to tie his shoe before we left. 30 seconds later Joe said, "Hey babe, I need to tell you something". I turned around and nearly tripped on the beautiful man kneeling down in the dirt with a very shiny and sparkly ring in his hands. I looked at him with tears in my eyes and said 'What?!" (I actually repeated this for 3-4 times). I began to cry and laugh and screamed 'YES', as Joe placed the ring on my left hand. THAT was OUR sunrise... and that was definitely our day!
