Big News! We already eloped (just the 2 of us) on 10/10/2020. It was a beautiful fall day in NYC. We could not have asked for better weather and a more stunning backdrop than Fort Tryon Park near The Met Cloisters. We both have October birthdays (the 12th & the 25th), so we decided an elopement would be a pretty grand way to commemorate our long weekend: a Monday off of work for Columbus Day & Lindsey's 40th! And now to how we met: A little tired of our respective lives in Goodyear, AZ & Milwaukee, WI, we both individually decided to head to the Big Apple for an adventure. As it would turn out, we arrived on the very same day (July 6, 2017) and began working at the same high school just a few weeks later (Bronx Lighthouse College Prep Academy). We became friends shortly thereafter, often visiting each others' classrooms for quick chats about work & music & to lend a helping hand throughout the school day. But it wasn't until the following fall that we'd develop a deeper connection, thanks much in part to our great friend's encouragement. Thanks, Craig - love you! Six months later, we took our first road trip to the Midwest & Canada. There have been many long drives to Michigan & Florida since. Donald is a master road trip chauffeur at this point! Nearly a year later, Lindsey abandoned her Manhattan digs and moved up to the Bronx with Donald. Soon afterward, we became members of the New York Botanical Garden and often take long strolls through the woods and flower gardens at NYBG. Over the past few years, we've bonded over our love of educating teens, music, long drives and walks, and the beauty of nature. This is precisely why NYBG was the perfect spot for our engagement & eventually our NY nuptials too! During our Midwest quarantine time in the spring & summer of 2020, our walks always centered around "the big lake". That's exactly why Noto's overlooking Lake Michigan is a perfect spot for our GH gathering! We can't wait to celebrate with you all! XO
