We met at work. Two people, eleven years apart, living completely separate lives, but somehow always ending up together. At first, we were nothing more than coworkers who genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. Our boss loves us both, so we naturally spent a lot of time together - Astros games, lunches, dinners, etc. Friendship came easily. Neither of us thought much more of it. One day, we started holding each other accountable and working out at the office gym together just about every day…still “just friends,” but starting to have a little more laughter, a little more connection, and eventually some undeniable flirting. One not-so-great day for me, Colin called and offered to make me dinner…. which was the start to it all. Colin was hesitant at first, fresh out of a breakup, unsure if he was ready to jump into a new relationship. But thanks to Mike Morgan (who he introduced me to for fantasy football advice), he got the nudge he needed: “Give it a chance.” So he did, he asked me to go with him for a Memorial Day weekend trip to Port Aransas with his friends, and on the way home, we officially became “us”. Over the last 3.5 years, we’ve built a relationship that feels natural, balanced, and truly ours. We’re different in many ways, but we understand each other. Colin has never once made me feel like I need to be anything but myself—he’s supportive, steady, and my biggest cheerleader. And for him, I hope I’m the motivator, anything but the calm, and the encouragement he deserves. Our relationship is rooted in the values we share: love for our families, loyalty, security, and adventure. We’ve traveled many places together (Arizona, Cancun, Cabo, Florida, Colorado, and all over Texas), and no matter where we go, we always enjoy being with each other and the people we love. Colin is the planner and decision-maker; I’m the go-with-the-flow energy. Together, it just works. The proposal happened on November 23, 2025, during our annual “family” photos with the dogs. With the Houston skyline behind us, Colin dropped to one knee and created the moment I will never forget. Then he surprised me with a lunch full of our families (including mine, who drove in from New Braunfels) and our close friends. It was perfect, thoughtful, and so very us. We chose Cabo for our wedding because it reflects everything we love...adventure, relaxation, good food, great company, and all-inclusive, “everyone together but free to do their own thing” vibe we’ve loved at so many weddings we’ve attended. Our resort has something for everyone: amazing food, multiple pools, family-friendly spaces, golf, not too far from the marina, fishing, and a beautiful spa. It feels like the perfect setting to celebrate with the people who have supported us through every step of our story.
