Best Man
Matt is the groom’s older brother. The new father and husband was Billy’s idol growing up and still is to this day. The two are extremely close, but you wouldn’t guess it if you heard them on the golf course together. Matt deserves "some" of the credit for molding Billy into the hoops star he was in college. Matt, the former Yale football defensive lineman, had a distinct size advantage for 1v1 games in the driveway growing up. It's safe to say Matt toughened him up! His speech will be well anticipated. Hopefully the Battaglia crowd won’t be too tough on him, the precedent has already been set from Billy's speech at his wedding in Sea Island in 2020. #Courage
Matron of Honor
Erika and Lindsey have been best friends since kindergarten. It's a friendship that has grown over years thanks to a healthy amount of chocolate. They share a love for stories and writing, and Erika has a way of capturing the sometimes hilarious, but always insightful, everyday moments. She works as Head Librarian at Immanuel Christian School (also the school where they met), and makes visiting the library the best part of anyone's day. She's wife to Daniel and mom to Annie, our flower girl. When Erika and Lindsey were younger, they designed their dream weddings. It's too bad that wedding album is not longer with us, otherwise it would've saved Lindsey a LOT of time planning this much anticipated day!
Groomsman
Billy and Evan grew up together in Simsbury and have known each other since 4th grade. If we tried to condense the relationship into a paragraph, it wouldn’t do it justice. He is a roommate, friend, mentor, brother, and caddy. Evan comes from a great family and shares the same Catholic faith and values as Billy. Evan's work ethic on his business is inspiring and he can hold a conversation about anything. The former D-1 lacrosse player from BU is one of the more positive and high energy people you can be around. A big presence, you’ll be his best friend by the end of the weekend.
Matron of Honor
Grace and Lindsey met playing junior tennis. Grace was the first seeded player that Lindsey ever played in a tournament (and in case you're wondering, the match didn't go too well for Lindsey). Over the years, Lindsey and Grace have become like sisters through laughs (mostly at themselves), prayers, and goals for the future. Grace lives in North Carolina with her husband, Andrew, where they are quickly becoming serial entrepreneurs. Grace is founder and CEO of Tennis Girl Nation, an academy that teaches all the things she wish she knew as a young player. Her passion for thinking bigger and better is contagious - just like her dance moves.
Groomsman
Pat grew up in Hingham, MA and played soccer at Wheaton, where he and Billy met. He has since taken his talents to NYC for work, but is still a Boston kid at heart. Pat was instrumental in giving Billy great advice during the early days of his relationship with Lindsey. The two talk daily about work, their relationships, and golf games. Pat has a big smile and contagious laugh that can bring energy to any room. He will definitely be in the running for best dressed come Wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Sam and Lindsey met on the freshman basketball team in high school. Sam will tell you all about Lindsey's sandwiches during the locker room and if you think Lindsey's late now, you should have known her back then. She's been there for Lindsey through it all (even when Lindsey wanted to be the mascot, Robbie the Ram). No adventure is too big for Sam, and it's always amazed Lindsey how Sam is the ultimate go-getter - from leading scuba diving lessons in Malta, to moving cross-country for a new job without knowing anyone, to getting her real estate license, and setting big goals for her career. Sam is a lifelong friend, and the only thing that she loves more than a good swim might be dogs. Or popsicles. It might be a tie. One thing is for sure, though, that Sam loves her husband Al most of all, and the life they've created.
Groomsman
Brandon is the brother of Billy’s sister in law, Keirsten. The recent college graduate might as well be labeled the most interesting man in the world. In addition to being a college football player, he can sing, dance, ski, golf, and is known as one of the best chefs around. Brandon is one of the most loving and loyal friend/family members you can ask for and is someone Billy routinely turns to for advice. Depending on how the night unfolds, we may get a surprise solo singing performance…
Bridesmaid
Maria and Lindsey grew up playing junior tennis against each other before they were college teammates and doubles partners. They bonded over strategically timed trips to the athletic dining hall at 'Prime Time'. After college when they were both teaching, Lindsey and Maria lived next door to each other in DC, where Maria showed Lindsey the best places to go in the city - including a few baseball games #Nattitude. This time in DC was the best thing you could ask for in your 20’s. When you meet Maria, you know her students are lucky because she has one of the biggest hearts for others and is always challenging herself to go to the next level. Maria's a lifelong friend which just goes to show - good things can come out of junior tennis, after all.
Groomsman
Andrew is Lindsey's older brother, and he taught her pretty much everything she knows. Lindsey agrees. For her entire life growing up, she was always "Hardenbergh's sister", and proud to be. As an older brother, he's always given her the best advice just when she needed it most. His pep talks are second to none. He's made sure to always beat Lindsey in everything, too. Really, Lindsey never stood a chance. He also made sure to size Billy up when they first met, but within a few hours of meeting him, Andrew said, "I love this guy!" He lives in Arlington with his girlfriend, Christy (who has been another amazing part of this past year!) and is excited to welcome Billy into the family.
Bridesman
Erin and Lindsey became friends when they were teammates and doubles partners in college. Erin is one of the most athletic people Lindsey has ever met and if you saw her play doubles, you'd see. She'd never tell you this, but Erin holds the record for all-time doubles wins at UVA. She's always had that team-first quality of understanding people and working together to win. On the court and off, she inspires everyone through her work ethic, leadership, and humor. Her friendship has been a huge encouragement, and Lindsey's only regret is that she wished they had more time in Boston together. Erin's knowledge of Boston sports is impressive (she'd give Billy a run for his money). Erin's a new mom to Luke, and lives with her husband, Barrett, and GOAT dog, Archie. Luke is destined to be a Wahoo, with two D1 athletes as parents and a whole lot of UVA aunties.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Lindsey met in grad school at Northwestern. Katie is someone who knows how to connect with people, and you'll always leave a conversation better than when you started. Lindsey has been lucky to be roommates with Katie for the past two years, where Katie's eye for home décor has made it feel like home. A master puzzler, homemade ice-cream maker, and cheese plate creator, her midwestern accent only comes out if you listen hard for it. By day, she works at a fast growing tech startup, but by night you can find her booking a plane ticket for her next travel adventure. Her adventurous attitude for life is contagious, and she gives her all to everything she does. Which is a lot.
Bridesmaid
Keirsten, Billy's sister-in-law, is the best sister-in-law you could ask for. She's another tennis player, so it's hard not to be, but after you get to know her, it's easy to see why she's everyone's favorite person. Her attitude towards life and family make her an instant friend to everyone. In no particular order, Keirsten is wife to Matt, mom to adorable little Quincy, CEO and founder of Locker Room Talk, and lover of all things Disney. These days, she may play more golf than tennis, but pickleball also makes the list. Somehow she and Lindsey lost in pickleball to Matt and Billy, but this will never happen again.
Flower Girl
Annie is Erika (Matron of Honor) and Daniel's 2 year-old daughter, and Lindsey's goddaughter. Annie smiles big and can rock her pigtails. She loves exploring outside and reading books, and like Lindsey, is learning to like dogs. She loves dressing up and, let me tell you, this girl can dance. She has some moves! It's a dream come true for Lindsey that her best friend's daughter will be her flower girl, and Annie has already been practicing her flower tosses for the big day!
