Our Guide to Seattle

The Wedding Website of Lindsey Pogue and Mitch Bouma
We're so excited that our favorite people get to visit our favorite city! Here is a list of some of our recommendations for places to eat and drink, and things to see and do.

Our Custom Map

All of the below items can also be found on our custom map!

Coffee and Brunch

• Fresh Flours - Mitch's go-to coffee/pastry shop on days in the office. Get the blackberry danish! • Monorail Espresso - A Seattle staple - a walk-up window with great coffee. • Vivace Espresso - The founder is widely credited with developing and popularizing modern latte art! • Cafe Hagen - Our favorite breakfast sandwich, pastries and coffee. Tip: try their brunch board or their homemade Cruffin! • Stone Way Cafe - The best breakfast burritos! • Voula's Offshore Cafe - Great diner-style breakfast, with a Greek twist.

Restaurants

• Tacos Chukis - This is our fav take-out taco spot! Try the Tacos Chukis taco and Quesadillas, and eat at the waterfront park nearby. If you're feeling ravenous, try the Torta! • La Palmera - Our go-to happy hour spot after work because it is literally in Mitch's work building. We went here to celebrate on the night we got engaged, and again on our 1-year engagement anniversary. Tell Miguel we sent you! • Duke's Seafood - Two words - Stuffed. Halibut. • Pike Place Chowder - The best chowder in the city. • Pacific Inn Pub - The best fish and chips in the city. • Momiji Sushi - Great sushi; even better during happy hour! • How to Cook a Wolf - A fav date spot for family style PNW dishes. • Metropolitan Grill - Best steaks in the city. • Piroshky Piroshky - A Pike Place Market speciality. • Un Bien - Delicious Caribbean sandwiches. • Tat's - Our go-to food truck for Philly Cheesesteaks with a home in Pioneer Square. • Delancey - Lindsey's fav pizza. • Ruffin - Mitch's fav pizza.

Dessert

• Molly Moon's - Our favorite ice cream place. Try the cookie dough!

Bars and Breweries

• Gas Works Brewing - Best brewery view in town -- if you're still hungry, try their smashburgers. • Old Stove Brewing - Lucky you, we're having our welcome event here! Try their other location (Gardens) in Ballard. • Fremont Brewing - Great beer and great vibes. • Reuben's Brewing - Best beer and good vibes. • Queen Anne Beerhall - For an early Oktoberfest. • Citizen - An outdoor beergarden that we love, and have shared countless nights together during Seattle summer. • Toledo - A cool underground ambiance, if you can find it!

Sight-Seeing

• Kerry Park - the iconic Skyline view. Even better when the mountain is out! • Gas Works Park - another iconic Skyline view, recognize anything from '10 Things I Hate About You'? • Ballard Locks - it's fascinating to watch the boats lock through from freshwater (Lake Union) to the saltwater Sound! Now picture us taking our boat through here for the first time... • Green Lake - a gorgeous park with a 3 mile loop for walking, running, biking. • Ferry to Bainbridge Island - the ferry ride from Downtown to Bainbridge is beautiful. Look for whales, and spend the day exploring the cute shops and restaurants on the island. • Discovery Park - forested hiking trails, bluffs, and a beach with a lighthouse. • Amazon Spheres - check out the Amazon Campus, where our love story began!

Road Trips

If you're planning on staying a little while, here are some ideas for places to explore outside of Seattle: • Leavenworth - About 2.5 hours from Seattle, a cute Bavarian mountain town. Hike to Colchuck Lake in the Enchantments while you're here! • Mount Rainier National Park - About 2 hours from Seattle, you can meet the mountain you can see from everywhere in Seattle! We recommend going to Sunrise Visitor Center, going hiking, and stopping at Copper Creek Inn for blackberry-everything. • Artist Point at Mount Baker - This is where most of the photos on this site were taken, and our favorite place in Washington. Hike to Ptarmigan Ridge (where we had our first backpacking trip together) and look for mountain goats!
