Santa Monica Pier
Entertainment: Pacific Park has a roller coaster, carnival games, the famous ferris wheel. Tickets can be bought for an individual ride or all day pass. It's actually very fun! The Santa Monica Aquarium is nearby and although small, it's a fun way to learn what lives under the sea. It's only $5 for admission and kids under 12 are free! Food: Albright is a locally owned seafood spot that has awesome shellfish and poke for Lindsay
Disneyland
Entertainment: Space Mountain & Jungle Cruise Food: Here's a website with suggestions. http://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/disney-vacations/best-disneyland-food Trip Planning: Disney is best (and perhaps only possible) if you have a full day to spend at the park. Wear sunscreen. Be prepared to wait in line if you don't get the FastPass.
The Beach
Entertainment: Vamos a la playa. Caliente el sol. The beach is free! Bike/helmet, boogie board, umbrella and chair rentals are nearby at Perry's (address above). Food: Two blocks away on Main Street... Ashland Hill, Library Alehouse, and Lula Cucina Mexicana. Transportation: Walk, Bike, use Santa Monica Free Rides, or take an Uber/Lyft
California Science Center & Natural History Museum
Entertainment: Learning stuff. Super kid-friendly but not anti-adult. Amazing rose garden. Transportation: Take the Expo line Metro train. Super easy and short walk from there. Yes, there's public transportation in LA.
