FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lindsay Salis and Matthew Margis
Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! We are registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond as well as Amazon. You can find links to the registries in the "Gift Registries" section.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. The dress code is semi-formal. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, but not required. Suits, separates, and cocktail dresses are also fine. We just ask that people refrain from wearing casual attire such as jeans, shorts, and t-shirts.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are limited to space at our wedding ceremony venue. Except for our nieces (who are part of the wedding ceremony), we ask that you leave the kiddos at home and enjoy an adult evening out!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is ample parking at Historic Savage Mill. Guests may park in either the Little Lot or the Big Lot off of Washington Street.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, a shuttle will be provided from the hotels to the venue and back to the hotels after the reception. The shuttle will make three trips to the venue for the ceremony. There is limited space on each shuttle, so we recommend not waiting for the last shuttle to the ceremony. Those who arrive at the ceremony on the first shuttle can enjoy a cocktail at Dive Bar and Grille or explore the space at Historic Savage Mill to kill some time.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We will have blocks of rooms booked at both the Hampton Inn and Suites Columbia South Fort Meade and the SpringHill Suites by Marriot Columbia. See the "Travel & Hotels" section for more information and links to both hotels. Guests may also stay at any of the other hotels in the region. There are numerous hotels near the BWI airport that are a short drive from the venue. There will only be shuttle service from the blocked hotels, however.

Question

I forgot some essentials, are there convenience stores or pharmacies near the hotels?

Answer

Yes! There is a Royal Farms convenience store and gas station across the parking lot from the hotels where most essential can be found. There is also a CVS pharmacy located near the Harris Teeter, which is only a short drive from the hotel. The address for CVS is 8640 Guilford Rd. Columbia, MD 21046.

Question

Are there any places to get a quick bite to eat near the hotels?

Answer

Yes! There is a strip mall across the street from the hotels that includes Bonheur (a wonderful bakery and breakfast spot), Dunkin', Subway, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. There are also dozens of food and drink options located only a short drive from the hotels. See the "Things To Do" section for some other recommendations!

Question

When should I book a hotel reservation?

Answer

We have blocks of rooms at two hotels. You can make reservations anytime between now and August 31st at the Hampton, and between now and September 15th at SpringHill. We recommend making reservations early to guarantee the block rate.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please try to arrive no later than 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony. For those taking the shuttles from the hotels, we recommend not waiting for the last shuttle as there is limited space and we do not want anyone to have to scramble for transportation at the last minute.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please only bring a date if there is a "plus 1" indicated on your invitation. We believe in the more the merrier, but there is limited capacity at the venue.
