Question

How do I get to CT?

Answer

**be prepared for heavy traffic between Fairfield and NYC. Our recommended hotels are East of Fairfield where traffic is not too bad** Rental car We recommend renting a car for your stay, which can be done at any of the airports listed below. There also car rental offices throughout Fairfield which are not too far from the Fairfield Metro North station. Do I need a car? I would suggest yes. That said, you can survive car-free staying in a coastal town like Fairfield, Milford, or Westport relying on Metro North train to get to the area and short Uber rides. We can help arrange taxi/ubers for arrival to the venue. Train Metro North train – Fairfield station Metro North connects NYC to various CT towns and the Fairfield Metro North train station is a 5-minute drive from the Scandinavian Club. Metro North does not run to the Trumbull Marriott but it does run to Fairfield & Milford where other recommended hotels are. Amtrak – Bridgeport, CT The Amtrak stops in Bridgeport, CT which is about a 15 minute drive from Scandinavian Club. It’s also in the direction of some of the farther afield hotels in Trumbull or Milford. Fly Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) Avello is a US budget airline that flies into New Haven CT from the East Coast & Midwest. The airport is about 40 minutes from the Scandinavian Club. Suggest renting a car here. Bradley International Airport (BDL) The next most convenient airline is Bradley in Hartford CT which is about an hour from Fairfield & our recommended hotels. It would be best to rent a car here for easy movement during the weekend. LaGuardia or JFK in NYC Finally, there are the NYC airports, with LaGuardia being slightly better than JFK. You could rent a car and drive approx. 1.5 hours to Fairfield/our recommended hotels or make your way to the Metro North Train line to train in to Fairfield, Bridgeport, or Milford.

Question

**Important Beach Notice**

Answer

Beaches (specifically "town beaches") are only accessible if you can get yourself there without a car and in that case are free. This applies to all the Fairfield beaches (Jennings, Fairfield Beach). By car, you would have to pay $50 and parking around the beach is prohibited. We've listed beaches with slightly less expensive car access under Things to Do
