We lived in Portland for two years and loved every minute of it. There are endless things to do in Portland, but here are a few of our favorites: - Tandem Bakery or Standard Bakery for coffee/ Biscuits - Walk the Western or Eastern Prom - Beer at Bissell Brothers/ Goodfire/ Austin Street/ Banded Brewing - Lobster rolls at Portland Lobster Co or Highroller - Dinner at Baharat/ Terlingua/ Cong tu Bot/ Scales
Brunswick
Home of Bowdoin College (Christian's alma mater) and a. phenomenal art museum. Very cute, walkable downtown (Big Top and Frontier are excellent for lunch) and many great biking routes by the ocean.
Reid State Park
Beautiful state park on the way from Portland to Wiscasset/ Boothbay Harbor. Miles of rare Maine sandy beach!
Boothbay Harbor
Very walkable downtown, with lots of cute stores and places to grab a bite or a pint right on the water. Definitely check out the footbridge and the Botanical Gardens!
Southport
Beautiful island community just southwest of Boothbay Harbor. Favorite spots include Robinson's Wharf, the Southport General Store, Hendricks Head Beach, and the Newagen Inn.
