We met at Bissell Brothers Brewery in Portland, Maine on the second day of our medical school orientation. Lindsay went right up to Christian and said "Hi, we haven't met yet!" and we became fast friends. After Lindsay sent a group picture from the day to her sister Avery, Avery sent back a screen shot of a close up of Christian and Lindsay with the caption "looks promising..." We finally became more than friends the following Spring.

The day before medical school graduation, we went on a run/ bike to one of our favorite spots on Nantucket Island-- Sanford Farms conservation land. It's a 3 mile sandy trail that leads to a pristine and often empty beach. It was there on the beach that Christian got down on one knee, 34 years after Lindsay's dad Jeff had proposed to her mom Sarah on another Nantucket beach.

We settled on Marianmade Farm in Wiscasset, Maine after searching up and down the Maine coast for a perfect venue. It's a Lavender farm (check) on the water (check) an hour from Portland (check) and nearby both Brunswick and Southport (check and check). When Avery independently found the same venue and they only had one date left in September, we knew we had to pick it!
