As of March 10th, 2021, Governor Abbott is lifting the statewide mask mandate and is opening the state to 100%. It is now up to businesses and individuals to continue wearing their masks and social distancing. We were originally planning to decrease our guest list to accommodate our new venue and the lower capacity plus COVID restrictions should a lower capacity be put into place so we don't have to cancel again. As of June 15th, most businesses and places in Waco are not requiring masks anymore and request that if you are not vaccinated that you still wear a mask. Most of everyone invited to the wedding is vaccinated already but if you aren’t we just request that you get tested if you’re not feeling well or if you have symptoms. We will have hand sanitizer on each table available and request that you respect personal spaces if there are others being cautious. Masks are not required but if you feel more comfortable wearing one that’s okay with us.
After we canceled the wedding we still decided to keep our original wedding date as the legal date and had a small ceremony on June 20, 2020. Even though we are still legally married we still want to celebrate with all of you and renew our vows. Should something happen though and we have to cancel the wedding again in June we will not reschedule/hold a reception later. As much as we would love to host a big party, especially for our wedding (trust me, we're dying to host a party), we have to prioritize several large house projects. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
Lindsay and Laura had been (still are) close friends for a couple of years before everything fell into place. Lindsay had gone to Austin with Laura and Donald (another friend) and they all stayed at Laura's parent's home for a weekend while volunteering for a Crossfit competition. They locked themselves out of the house coming back one night and Gabe had to come over and let them in since Ben and Maria went to pick up dinner for everyone. What a shock to hear that Lindsay and Gabe don't really say a word to each other during this encounter. Skip ahead 10 months later to Halloween weekend when Gabe comes to town to hang out with Laura. Lo and behold, even though Lindsay and Gabe are in the same bar, they don't really talk (Gabe was a bit shy). Now on to Thanksgiving of the same year and Lindsay heads home with Laura for the holiday since it didn’t work out to go back to Ohio for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Don't worry, Kota was in tow and came along! Laura also invited some friends from Waco as well. Gabe and Lindsay started to interact with one another over the weekend and it wasn't until the UT football tailgate that they really started to chat and get to know each other that Friday. Gabe then "volunteered" to go with Lindsay to watch the Ohio State-Michigan football game on Saturday before Lindsay and Laura headed back to Waco. Even after spending all weekend with Lindsay, Lindsay had to ask Gabe for his number and the rest is history! Since then, Lindsay and Gabe have given Kota some fur-siblings and added Zoe and Bella to the pack! We're so glad you can be a part of OUR story now!
