Officiant
Since Lima and Dustin are already married, they don't technically need an Officiant! However, Lima knew when she heard Rachel's outgoing voicemail starting "you have reached Rachel Batten, future President of the United States" freshman year of college she one day wanted Rachel to be the one reciting the ceremony at her wedding. Thankfully, Rachel has accepted this duty! An exceptional attorney and married over seven years herself, Lima has always been astounded by Rachel's wisdom, advice and grounded nature. When life seemed too hard or overwhelming, it was always Rachel whose inner child reached out to Lima's inner child and demanded company for Mel Brooks movies and good food. This is a woman who taught Lima more about life through example than she will ever know.
Maid of Honor
There was a running joke at the start at of planning the vow renewal and reception that Lima's love for Antonella ran so deep, the vows would actually be written for Antonella but only recited to Dustin. Only Antonella will know if this will remain the case! Antonella and Lima met in graduate school and in true Lima fashion, she took an immediate dislike to Antonella. She found Antonella to idealistic, "hippie" and not pragmatic enough for Lima's hardheaded world views. She did not know Antonella, who decided Lima would be her friend, no matter what. Sure enough, Antonella has since become Lima's sister, pseudo-wife and best friend in every sense of the term. They will never agree on the UN as a useful entity, but they will always agree on the love.
Best Man
Pros: Fantastic father, brother, and son. Impressively, did not kill Dustin years ago. Also, he gets the best hookups on hotels. Cons: Allergic to the sun and whatever you do, don't take him into a bat cave. UF Alumni.
Bridesmaid
In high school, there was one girl Lima just couldn't seem to befriend. Melissa hung out with the older kids, was athletic, cool, beautiful-- just about everything Lima never considered herself to be. Then came Junior year where they not only took a multitude of classes together but were both active members of Yearbook, Student Government and even played "Clairee" and "Shelby" in the high school production of Steel Magnolias. A friendship that has spanned states, nations and nearly 20 years was born. Though they may live apart to this day, when together, it's like not a moment has gone by. Melissa is one of Lima's oldest friends and is very thankful to have her.
Bridesmaid
Lima and Kelli met in the strangest way, as if the Universe demanded their friendship. The Universe knew exactly what it was doing! Lima and Kelli have grown together as individuals, women and friends across the span of the last eight years, have watched each other bloom professionally, all while navigating all the minutia of everyday life. When Lima needed a friend the most, it was Kelli who was always able to show up with Starbucks, sushi and ready to move a couch. Kelli's family also has the most amazing habit of celebrating all Lima's accomplishments, from Harvard lectures to getting out of bed. The only downside is, Lima has yet to forgive Kelli for knowing about Dustin's proposal and not spilling the beans.
Bridesmaid
Kylie was the first member of the Norman clan Lima ever met. She was warned by Dustin that Kylie was fairly conservative and there should be no hand holding or nicknames. Fast-forward a year, Lima is the only person aside from her husband, Kylie calls "babe." So much for the no nickname rule! Kylie is Dustin's older (and only) sister but she is not a member of this bridal party by default; Kylie is the most kind, supportive, loving and generous person God ever put on this Earth. This is a woman with a heart all should envy, Lima and Dustin certainly both do. Kylie's love and acceptance of Lima as a sister and member into the Norman family over the last year has been absolutely cherished.
