You know the story of our engagement in Asheville, NC; Dustin planned a mile hike, straight up the Appalachian Mountains, in the middle of summer. At the top of Craggy Pinnacle, where the view at the top was breathtaking, Dustin jumped the safety barrier and offered his hand, the last time as a "boyfriend." He played Scotty McCcreery’s song, “This Is It” and dropped to one knee. It was a resounding yes! The question became, how do we get married in the middle of a raging pandemic, that showed no signs of slowing! The answer came from Dustin's mom, who suggested we simply elope on our next vacation to Lake Tahoe. Crazy but we were sold! On October 25th, 2020, with no one but Dustin's immediate family, a preacher and a stunning background of water, sky and mountains, we both said "I do." It was 40 degrees outside, the sun shone and we started life as Mister and Missus. It remains the best decision we've ever made. However, something was missing! It was the celebration and all our loved ones sharing in the happiness! And cake and champagne, that was definitely missing! In January 2022, we will have slightly over one year of marriage under our belts.
