We met my first day of summer after junior year of college. A friend and I had gone to the Chebeague Island Inn to celebrate the beginning of break. Vici was standing by the door at the end of the evening as he waited for a ride back to his house. Just like any kind islander would do, we offered him a ride back home and he accepted. We exchanged numbers, went on our first date six days later and fell in love!
Vici and I decided to take a ride on what is probably the most famous road in Romania: Transfagarasan. At this point in April, there was still snow on the mountains so the road on the top half of the mountain was closed. We parked our car and hiked up across the snow on a treacherous path to a breathtaking waterfall called Cascada Balea. At 6,700 feet at the bottom of a waterfall on the top of a mountain in Romania, Vici got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and, of course, I said yes!
