About the Town Montgomery is known as “Vermont’s covered bridge town.” Its unique geography required many bridges, and as recently as the 1940s there were thirteen covered bridges within the town’s limits. There are six covered bridges within town limits, and one which straddles the town line with Enosburg — the most of any town in the country.
From where RT 58 meets RT 118 and RT 242 in the center of town, take RT 242 heading east. You'll see a boarded up school almost immediately on your right side. Follow the train tracks into the woods and after about a five-minute walk, you will arrive at Three Holes.

Visit our college town where we met back in 2016! About an hour away from Montgomery. We recommend walking the college campus and seeing the beautiful mountains. Want to swim? Check out Journey End, after a 10-minute walk through the woods leads you to a river with many different places to jump in.

The Hazen's Notch Association is a non-profit, charitable, conservation organization located in Montgomery, Vermont. The HNA maintains a network of trails for hiking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing on over 1,000 acres of private conservation land and conducts a summer nature and adventure camp for children. The Hazen's Notch Association was founded in 1994.
