Smuggler Mountain

A relatively short "in town" hike with beautiful views of Aspen and Aspen mountain. 3 miles round trip intermediate road you can run/hike. Trailhead: Follow Highway 82 (Cooper Street) east of town. 50 yards after crossing the bridge, turn left onto Park Ave. Where the street curves left, turn right toward the mountain on Park Circle

Ute Trail

For those looking for an aerobic workout, Ute Trail is a steep, strenuous hike that can be easily accessed from downtown Aspen. Head East on Main Street until you hit Ute Ave, follow the trail sign

Gondola Ride

Take a ride to the top of Ajax Mountain on the Silver Queen Gondola and enjoy the incredible views from the sun deck. https://www.aspensnowmass.com/plan-your-stay/tickets-and-passes/summer There are a few short hikes from the top of the gondola that are worth exploring as well.

Maroon Bells

The iconic peaks! The most photographed place in Colorado A reflective lake and two giant snow-striped mountaintops, named Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, anchor a blissful panorama exemplified by a symphony of color that changes with the seasons.

Bike to Woody Creek Tavern

Can bike from town, follow the Woody Creek Trail signs. Scenic views of the Roaring Fork River. Stop at the eclectic Woody Creek Tavern (great Margs and Mexican food) for lunch at the end, once a favorite hangout of Hunter S. Thompson. Ride is about 7 miles in length, takes 1.5 hours each way. Moderate hills. Can rent bikes at Four Mountain Sports.

Kemo Sabe Aspen

Vintage western hats (you can actually have them branded with your initials) and cowboy boots, Kemosabe is an awesome stop for all western wear.

Cache Cache

An old-school steakhouse that's proven to be a mainstay in Aspen: the restaurant opened back in 1987. For non-red-meat eaters, there are still plenty of options including the chicken, amazing mac-and-cheese and fabulous salads. The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine from the expansive 100+ page wine menu
