A relatively short "in town" hike with beautiful views of Aspen and Aspen mountain. 3 miles round trip intermediate road you can run/hike. Trailhead: Follow Highway 82 (Cooper Street) east of town. 50 yards after crossing the bridge, turn left onto Park Ave. Where the street curves left, turn right toward the mountain on Park Circle

Can bike from town, follow the Woody Creek Trail signs. Scenic views of the Roaring Fork River. Stop at the eclectic Woody Creek Tavern (great Margs and Mexican food) for lunch at the end, once a favorite hangout of Hunter S. Thompson. Ride is about 7 miles in length, takes 1.5 hours each way. Moderate hills. Can rent bikes at Four Mountain Sports.
