Our Vow Renewal

As many of you know, we got married on our original date, December 5, 2020, but still wanted to celebrate with all of you! Our ceremony will be a vow renewal and will be followed by a cocktail hour and reception. We can’t wait to see you all!

How We Got Here

After spending a little over a semester together at Virginia Tech, we knew our relationship was worth fighting for. From Bryan being in Memphis and Lily in Virginia, Bryan being in Texas and Lily in Virginia, Bryan getting deployed to Kuwait and Lily in Philadelphia, to us both finally being in New Jersey together, we have loved and cherished each other. We have grown endlessly through this crazy rollercoaster ride, and we can't wait to see where the military and beyond takes us.

The Proposal

March 24, 2018

To say Bryan moved heaven and earth to make this proposal happen is an understatement! Bryan was in the middle of pilot training in Del Rio, Texas and was determined to fly to Blacksburg, Virginia for Lily's Ring Dance. He had been collaborating with one of Lily's friends (and now bridesmaids Kaleigh) for months to coordinate the perfect surprise, given that he had told me he wouldn't be able to make it months prior. On March 24th after finding out that he would fly C-17s for the Air Force, Bryan drove to San Antonio to start his trek to Blacksburg. Blacksburg was experiencing a blizzard in March, so Lily's Ring Dance was cancelled and Bryan's flight got diverted to Richmond. There, Bryan met "Airport Steve." They then split a rental car, drove 4 hours through the snow storm, changed clothes at Steve's grandfather's house, and met Lily and her friends at the restaurant they had plans to eat at before the dance. Only when Lily walked out of the restaurant into the snow thinking her friend was about to be sick and she saw Bryan, did she understand why the reservation was under Bryan's name, why she had been treated by Bryan to a spa day, and her friends were being extremely strange. He got down on one knee in the snow, and then and there, they were engaged!
