Desert jeep tours are a great way to explore beautiful Tucson. They'll pick you up from your hotel or airbnb and drive you out to a private ranch where your experienced guide points out the amazing plants and wildlife native to Tucson. This is a great group activity. Fun fact: we went on a jeep tour with Amelia's family the day we got engaged :)
There is incredible hiking all around Tucson. Hacienda del Sol is located in the Catalina Foothills and the closest trail head is the Finger Rock trailhead, but there are countless other hikes to do in Tucson. Some personal favorites are Phoneline in Sabino Canyon and Douglas Springs in Saguaro National Park East. Mount Lemmon is great for a scenic drive and cooler temperatures and there are also great options about an hour and a half away in Madero Canyon.
In addition to incredible hiking, there's a great (and flat!) bike path along the Rillito River the runs through Tucson. There are a few bike rental companies along the path. While we can't personally attest to their services, Central Tucson Loop Bike Rentals is just a few miles from Hacienda del Sol.
