Lily and Keegan met the first day orientation at Saint Louis University in August 2019. They were both commuting to college, so they were doing orientation with the commuter student association. They became friends with same people, so they started spending a lot of time together. Before they started dating, Keegan met Lily’s mom when Lily invited him to ride to Eckert’s with them. She did not mention that he would have to help them clean up a wedding or stop by the cemetery before Eckert’s. He was a sport about all of it and just happy to being spending time with her. The mother of the bride of the wedding we were cleaning up told Lily’s mom that Keegan was going to end up marrying me which of course no one believed was going to happen at the time. A week later their friend Meredith told Lily that Keegan liked her, but Lily was scared and didn’t know how she felt about him. The next day the college had their welcome mass, so Lily prayed about it and decided to let herself fall for him. Keegan finally decided to tell her that he liked her at the Clocktower, but he failed to ask her out. The next day he asked Lily out after chemistry recitation. He said, “Do you want to hang out this Saturday… like just the two of us… like a date?” Of course Lily said yes, and they planned for a picnic date in Forest Park. The Thursday night before their date, Keegan was helping Lily with her impossible Calculus homework all night and they shared their first kiss. In typical Lily fashion she was late for their first date because she was setting up a wedding. Keegan picked Lily up at her Grandma’s and brought her grandma daisies. They had a wonderful date and went to Keegan’s house after they got Ted Drewes. Also in Lily fashion she fell asleep while they were watching a movie. They continued dating and went through all the ups and downs of college and starting their life together. Keegan proposed to Lily right after their five year anniversary. Every year they go back to Forest Park to have a picnic for their anniversary. Lily wears the same dress from their first date that was her grandma’s. Lily was “patiently” waiting to get engaged, but Keegan wanted to propose at the spot where they took one of their first pictures. They went to Fitz’s for lunch, took pedal boats out in the grand basin, and walked around the Art Museum. Keegan nervously proposed afterwards in front of Grand Basin with the Art Museum in the background. Lily obviously said yes, and Keegan’s friend Rallo was hiding to take pictures of the proposal. They took some pictures, and ended the night with Ted Drewes. Shortly after they got engaged, they bought their dream house on the Hill which just happened to be three houses down from Lily’s mom’s house. They have been through covid lockdowns, long distance, medical problems, and so much more. They have always been their biggest cheer leaders through their sports, school, and starting their careers. Lily and Keegan can’t wait to start their life together in their new home and celebrate their love with all of their family and friends.
