Looking for a refreshing dip that's not the ocean or pool? Go to the beautiful, crystal-clear lagoon surrounded by lush rainforest and underwater caves: a great destination for snorkelers and scuba divers. It's about a 20-25min drive from the condos.
Cenote dos Ojos (around 45 mins by car) is one of the most popular sinkholes in Mexico. It comprises of two open-air cenote surrounded by caves and offers 1,500 square feet of swimming surface with crystal clear waters. Swim, snorkel, or dive with turtles and colorful fish here. You can even swim into the caves as bats fly overhead. There are also plenty of wooden platforms where you can chill amid the lush nature and take lots of pictures.
This town (about 1hr drive away), found on the Yucatán Peninsula, is not only home to great beaches, but has lush jungles, Mayan ruins, cenotes (caves or sinkholes filled with crystal-clear waters), gorgeous lagoons and upscale day and beach clubs.
