El Fogón
Fogon has been our go to spot for mouth watering tacos for close to two decades! They now have several branches, but we still love the original location. Order any version of the pastor tacos and you won't be disappointed!
EL Oasis Seafood
If you're craving seafood, this is THE spot! Not quite walking distance, but only a short 3-5 min car or cab ride away. Order the breaded fish or shrimp tacos and of course ceviche!!
Los Aguachiles
Another of our seafood staples, come to their original location and try what they're known for, Aguachiles (raw shrimp cured in spicey green salsa and lime).
La Cueva del Chango
This local restaurant has some delicious chilaquiles and other great breakfast options.
La Cochi Loka
Cochinita Pibil tacos (succulent pork) are must try when you're in the region of the Yucatan. Order and eat at the counter or sit in their small corridor for some shade.
Chez Celine
If you're not in the mood for Mexican, this French bakery has several delicious pastries and sandwich options. Try their almond croissant!
Fresco Hábito
If you're looking for a light or refreshing breakfast/ lunch, come here for the acai/fruit bowls, fresh juices or other tasty vegan finds.
Birria de la 30
The recent quesabirria craze in the states is nothing new for this local gem (who has been serving these delicious fried beef tacos for decades). Ask for the consomé (a rendered down meat stock) and dip your taco in that for the ultimate indulgence.
Asadero el Pollo
With only one main item on the menu (along with a few side dishes), this will be, by far, one of the best grilled chickens you have ever tasted in your life.
Cenote Spa at Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen
If you're looking for an escape from the heat and sand, come here for a relaxing spa treatment. Make sure to call ahead to make an appointment as they fill up about a day prior.

5th ave is a long strip full of ice cream shops, bars, restaurants, and all kinds of shops. It's a great walk to people watch too ;)

Cenote Jardín Del Eden
Looking for a refreshing dip that's not the ocean or pool? Go to the beautiful, crystal-clear lagoon surrounded by lush rainforest and underwater caves: a great destination for snorkelers and scuba divers. It's about a 20-25min drive from the condos.
Cenote dos Ojos
Cenote dos Ojos (around 45 mins by car) is one of the most popular sinkholes in Mexico. It comprises of two open-air cenote surrounded by caves and offers 1,500 square feet of swimming surface with crystal clear waters. Swim, snorkel, or dive with turtles and colorful fish here. You can even swim into the caves as bats fly overhead. There are also plenty of wooden platforms where you can chill amid the lush nature and take lots of pictures.
Tulum
This town (about 1hr drive away), found on the Yucatán Peninsula, is not only home to great beaches, but has lush jungles, Mayan ruins, cenotes (caves or sinkholes filled with crystal-clear waters), gorgeous lagoons and upscale day and beach clubs.
