Matron of Honor
Like many 21st century love stories, we met online...the Wheaton College Class of 2019 Facebook page, to be more specific. Within 15 minutes of texting, we decided to be best friends. We lived together for 3.5 years and somehow graduated with our friendship in tact + stronger than ever. I got to be her maid of honor in 2019, and now she gets to be mine. Dreamy.
Best Man
Keldon is just the best older brother a guy could hope for! He might be a boring introvert, but we have the best times together. Nobody can make me laugh as hard or annoy me as much with their jokes, just like an older brother should. Endlessly wise and caring, I just love my big, goofy older brother. Keldy has many special skills and talents, but none greater than his ability to play a mean air trombone.
Maid of Honor
From #burritocheesecake on the bus in 5th grade to our first little Minneapolis apartment, she has seen more of my awkward phases than anybody else. We even survived quarantining together (along with like half of this wedding party). One of my best gals.
Groomsman
Jordan and I became friends early in college, and since then we have spent endless crazy late nights laughing and excitedly yelling to each other while sitting side by side. We've played endless hours of music together, and those hours have been filled with nearly as many jokes as notes and rhythms. Jordan might be relentlessly driven and a talented drummer, but he truly specializes in the art of unwanted serious conversations.
Bridesmaid
My name twin + sweet pal. From youth group trips and the mall rat years to being in each other's weddings...she's always been there for me. She was even there at Big Sandy Camp when I laid eyes on Korey for the first time ever, so, obviously she is standing next to me.
Groomsman
That's right, Taylor Bongard himself. One of the greatest humans on the face of the planet. Every person needs to know Taylor—and I think everyone does. We often bond due to our eclectic interests and love for Jim Carey movies. I could list his talents all day, but perhaps the most profound is his ability to attract unsolicited marriage proposals from every single woman he's ever met. Lilli even proposed to him once.
Bridesmaid
Nothing captures my friendship with Liwanag more than the time we were at Spyhouse on Snelling Ave, taking selfies in the bathroom, and she knocked over the trash can. I have laughed louder and cried harder in public places (mostly Spyhouse tbh) with her more than anybody else. She knows how to be honest unlike anyone I know. I'm grateful she's been with me since high school, and I'm grateful she's agreeing to stand with me on our wedding day and in this marriage.
Groomsman
I met Sam on the first day of college, and we have been friends ever since. In that time, we have lived a lot of life together: the good, bad, and everything in between for each of us. When we are together, it's pretty much non-stop laughs. From each of us, and anyone who will stand to be our audience. A man of many accolades, perhaps his greatest is his six Super Bowl MVP awards.
Bridesmaid
The first time I met Megan, I swore she was wearing Anthropologie perfume. Apparently she wasn't. We are often mistaken for twins but we've also been known to make lunches together/for each other #twivesforever. She went from coworker to bestie pal real heckin quick!
Groomsman
The second of his name, KJ and I met playing music together and it was an immediate friendship. We became roommates shortly after and the rest is history. A nonstop joke machine, Kelvin constantly makes me laugh and reminds me to not take life too seriously. Although he has many actual talents, KJ claims he has the special ability to tell whether a movie will be good or not just by seeing the trailer...which seems like a skill every single one of us also has.
Bridesmaid
When Jae and I started working together, our boyfriends worked together too, which was fun. Now none of us work together—but she's married + soon I will be too?!! What?! Jae (and her husband Matt!) has been just the most enthusiastic supporter of our love. I got to be one of her bridesmaids, and now she gets to stand with me! Joy of joys!
Groomsman
Luke might be the biggest nerd in this whole wedding party, which is really saying something. When Jordan and I were traveling to youth groups playing music in college, we would try to convince Luke to ignore his homework and be our "roadie." Luke is just the guy you always want to be around. When he isn't reading theology textbooks or playing boardgames, he is out winning multiple Tom Selleck lookalike competitions...probably at the same time.
Photog Extraordinnaire + Honorary Bridesmaid
Talented gal + the kindest of friends! Not only is she going to make us + our party look amazing, she's also one of my dearest friends. Notorious for running late to gal pal hangs, she's still my favorite because she made me a dog aunt to one of the sweetest doodles ever, Murphy.
