Go specifically to http://www.alturiafarm.com/contact to follow their directions to the venue rather than using google maps as the venue's site gives you directions to avoid back, windy, roads with tractor/farm traffic. http://www.alturiafarm.com/contact (that specific link has the specific directions or go to alturiafarm.com and click the "contact" page). Or you can scroll down on the "travel" section of our website. ALSO: If you're relying on Uber (or any car service) to take you to the venue, you will have no trouble getting a ride from Richmond. HOWEVER, your return will not be so easy. You could wait for 30-60min for someone to get to the venue once an Uber is ordered so plan a return trip with a service before you get there!
We found that with the number of hotels in the Richmond area, there was a risk that every room blocked for a discount may not get used and we'd end up financially responsible. On top of that, we found a lot of hotels are listed on groupon (yes, that still exists) and, believe it or not, the deals were the same if not better!
There will be no bar, but this is not a totally dry wedding. Champagne or sparkling wine will be offered to those who would like some spirits and sparkling cider will be available for those who want something bubbly, but do not want a buzz.
We'd LOVE to see your kids, but the venue simply can't hold THAT many people! So bring them to town next time and we will steal all the time we can with them, but for now, use our wedding as an excuse for a great date night or date trip for that matter! That being said, we have our own kids and so you WILL see a FEW kids at the wedding who we required to be there. Don't be shocked. We love everyone of you so much and are likely even more obsessed with your kiddos, but enjoy a night out this time!
No. If you're flying in, our best recommendation is to rent a car so that you can see more of Richmond than just our venue.
Honestly, no... We may have some snacks on Friday night (chips, veggies, etc) and there are veggie side dishes at the reception, but if you're a vegan/vegetarian, you will likely not leave stuffed from either event. Just a heads up.
