Karrie: My grandmother, MeMaw as she's known, was Michael David's childcare provider. MD and MeMaw had remained close since his childhood and it was only right that he be invited to her monumental birthday party in 2017. Having no real memory of him, other than the stories MeMaw had repeated to me over the years, I didn't know who exactly I was inviting other than someone who cherished my grandmother equally as much as she did him. A month later we were on our first date. Soon I was meeting his sweet girls, Ava and Estella, and now, here we are planning our wedding! We can't wait to celebrate the start of our new adventure together with all of you! Mike wants everyone to know, he was probably the first boy to kiss me besides my dad. Life. It has a funny way of coming full circle doesn't it? Mike: If you asked her, then she’d say we met at MeMaw’s birthday party. If you want my take on it, then our introduction happened a long long time ago with only the smallest of cookie crumbs to lead us back together. I have very sparse memories of childhood, however the memories of significance all lead back to one place. MeMaw’s house. She was my caretaker as a child and we spent so much time together that we developed a special relationship. While I cannot point directly to one specific memory or another, I have faint memories of Baby Karrie coming to MeMaw’s house-you may have seen the pictures. As life would have it, we went to separate schools and had separate groups of friends. Our slight age difference and about 10 miles worth of road would lead us down two separate paths for nearly three decades. I like to think that that time was used to work out all of the kinks in life. Up until the invite to Me-Maw's birthday party, in more recent memories, Karrie only existed to me in the form of pictures through a mutual friend. Upon our introduction at the party I knew only one thing…something feels familiar, something feels good and thank god for those cookie crumbs!
