Pisa Galileo Galilei Aeroporto is the nearest airport to the venue. 30 min by rental car; OR taxi €80-100; OR train to Lucca (€10 plus taxi to hotel €20-30). Uber is not available. Florence Peretola Airport (aka Amerigo Vespucci Airport) may have better connections or airfares. 1 hr 15 min by car OR train to Lucca then taxi to hotel/venue. Other airports: Rome or Milan, then trains (3-4hrs)

Renting a car is a convenient way to get around, especially if you want to do any sightseeing in Lucca or the surrounding region. (They drive on the right in Italy. Toll roads take credit cards. For directions, use your phone maps (with international data or eSIM) or rent a GPS with your rental car.) Note: check your credit card policy if you are planning to use that for full insurance coverage as many exclude Italy from their cover.) *If you are traveling directly to Villa Buonvisi (wedding venue), for directions use “Buonvisi B&B” or the address, 277 Via di Villa Gaia, 55100 Lucca, Italy, NOT “Villa Buonvisi Oliva.”

This hotel is the closest to Villa Buonvisi and is easily accessed on foot through their side gate, which is directly adjacent and just a 2 minute walk to Villa Buonvisi. The hotel is holding a block of rooms at the rate of €240 per room per night. At the time of this writing, it is actually cheaper to book on Booking.com or directly through the hotel’s website, but this may change as rooms fill up. So if you are not sure of your plans yet, we encourage you to book a cancellable room to get a better rate until you decide your plans.

This hotel is a 7-8 minute walk along a private back road to Villa Buonvisi. It is partially unlit at night and unpaved. We recommend wearing flat shoes and bringing a pair to change into once you arrive at the villa. We will have a room available to store them during the festivities. They are holding a block of rooms with very good special rates through January. You must contact the hotel directly to book. After January, rooms can still be booked at the special rates, but on a space available basis.
