Where should I stay?

Answer

There many are great hotels, inns and B&Bs in Hampshire. We suggest our guests stay either in Winchester or near Stockbridge, which is a village near our wedding venue, Houghton Lodge. There is also nice accommodation at the venue in case you prefer to stay close.

Is there parking at Houghton Lodge for the ceremony and reception?

Is there transportation to/from Winchester to Houghton Lodge?

Answer

We recommend guests take a taxi to/from the wedding venue if you plan to have a tipple. The journey takes about 25 minutes and costs approximately £25 each way. We will make introductions to guests to carpool as it gets closer and can help set up taxis if you need help - just let us know! You should plan to arrive at the venue by 3:15pm and have your taxi pick you up between 11:30pm and midnight. We recommend you schedule taxis in advance through any of the service below. What's the deal with the walk?

Answer

The walk will be informal and casual for anyone who is interested and feeling up for it on Sunday 2 June! Feel free to make a decision on Sunday morning if you want to come! We will meet in front of Winchester Cathedral and head off at 11am to St. Catherine's Hill, past the 12th century Hospital of St. Cross. We expect to be back into Winchester by 1:30pm at the latest, and will finish with a final pint in our favourite local pub, the Wyckeham Arms, before we say farewell. Is dinner provided at the Friday pub event?

Answer

No, we won't be providing a full dinner, but will have a mixture of snacks and pizzas being served. We suggest having an early dinner or snack beforehand, or you can order more food at the pub if you are still hungry!
