We're getting married!

Our story started at the end of 2014 when we “met” in what would be considered a very unusual way. We met through the social media app, Tinder. After about a month of chatting online we decided to meet up at the Spur in Melkbosstrand for lunch. Afterwards we decided to go for a long walk on the beach to continue our chatting. That December holiday I went on an outreach program called Stranddienste and Liam went on holiday with his family. In January of 2015 Liam invited me for lunch at his house to meet his family and in turn he came to visit me in Porterville, to meet my mom and sister and Melkbosstrand to meet my dad. On 1 March 2015, Liam asked me to be his girlfriend and another chapter in our story began. The next 2 years were filled with lots of memories and visits between Melkbos, Porterville and Durbanville. In 2017 Liam went on one of his life-long dreams to spend a summer in the UK, playing and coaching cricket. This was our first test of having a long distance relationship. During this 5 month period I graduated from college, got a job in Piketberg and moved back to Porterville. Once Liam returned from the UK we spent another 6 months doing long distance before I moved to Durbanville, so that the two of us could be closer to each other. This long time apart made us realize how much we really love and appreciate each other. Over the next year we enjoyed spending time together, seeing each other every day and building an even stronger and deeper friendship. At the end of March 2019 Liam left for India to take up a coaching opportunity for Gary Kirsten Cricket India. Over the next 2 months he planned, organised and bought a ring. In May Liam returned to Cape Town for a short visit. It was two days after his return that he packed a lovely picnic lunch and took me to Kirstenbosch Gardens. It was there that he asked me to be his wife. We are both very excited about this new chapter in our story and can’t wait to share it with everyone.
