Josh had recently graduated from Kansas State University with his Masters in Accounting and he was finally back home from Manhattan. He convinced me that we were going to meet his parents for dinner on the Plaza to have a celebratory graduation dinner. On the way to the Plaza, Josh told me that we had a little time before meeting his parents for our dinner reservation. He casually suggested checking out a rooftop bar at the InterContinental. I agreed, not thinking much of it. However, I did ask Josh if it was okay that he was parked in their parking garage since we weren't staying there. He assured me it was fine and we got out to head to the bar. I was completely oblivious to the fact that we passed elevators that could have easily taken us to the roof! We stopped at a room and he got out a room key for us to go in, and that's when I knew something was happening. He took me to the balcony that overlooked the Plaza lit up with all of the Christmas lights and proposed there. It was the perfect proposal and I loved that it was just him and I. I was so excited and I called my parents to tell them the exciting news. I was crying happy tears and couldn't wait to show them the ring. Just when I thought the surprises were over, we headed to the restaurant to meet Josh's parents and I saw my family waiting with them at the bar. The fact that he made sure my family was there meant the world to me. It was the happiest night ever!
