Things To Do

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

100 Sierra Nevada Way, Mills River, NC 28732

If you hop off the plane in Asheville and immediately need a beer, this is the place to go! It's right next to the airport and has a great space for live music, beer, and food. Their outdoor space is literally massive and so pretty!

Wicked Weed Brewing's Brewpub

Wicked Weed Brewing's Brewpub

91 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

One of our favorite spots in downtown Asheville! Try the Pernicious IPA or Mango Wowie IPA. The mac & cheese is also no joke.

7 Clans Brewing

7 Clans Brewing

66 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803

One of Lexi's favorite breweries! This brewery is indigenous and woman owned - keeping with the long tradition of women within indigenous cultures crafting fermented beverages. Grab a beer and support the local Cherokee nation!

New Belgium Brewing Company

New Belgium Brewing Company

21 Craven Street, Asheville, NC 28806

While this is a Colorado brewery, it is still one of our favorite stops in Asheville! The location and beer is great.

Burial Beer Co. South Slope Taproom

Burial Beer Co. South Slope Taproom

40 Collier Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

The last brewery recommendation we will make here (don't worry there's about 40 other breweries in the Asheville area you can check out if you wanna go all out). Burial is a great spot with a super cool vibe and good brews. Think emo and skulls (very on brand for Lexi).

Chestnut

Chestnut

48 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

One of our favorite restaurants in Asheville. The food and drinks are to die for and the menu changes monthly so everything is fresh and in season!

Strada Italiano

Strada Italiano

27 Broadway Street, Asheville, NC 28801

A great little Italian spot in downtown Asheville! We highly recommend the garlic ciabatta to start - it's insane. You can't go wrong with any of their pastas either!

Early Girl Eatery

Early Girl Eatery

8 Wall Street, Asheville, NC 28801

There are a few Early Girl locations around Asheville, but the one on Wall Street is downtown. They do mimosa flights (always fun!) and their biscuits are incredible. Lexi doesn't get anything wild or crazy, but Ryan always goes for the Charleston Chicken Biscuit.

Asheville Bee Charmer

Asheville Bee Charmer

32 Broadway Street, Asheville, NC 28801

Lexi loves bees and Lexi loves honey. Asheville Bee Charmer provides tastings of all their honeys (and they have the best flavors!!!) and sells mini versions of everything so you can take it on the plane. It's literally the only place where Lexi gets honey. Sourwood is her favorite flavor!

Happy Hens & Highlands Farm

Happy Hens & Highlands Farm

Micaville Loop, Burnsville, NC 28714

Lexi is a horse girl by nature and there is nothing Ryan hates more than the outdoors and farm animals. However, on our first trip to Asheville, Lexi talked Ryan into a trip to Happy Hens and Highlands for her birthday and even Ryan will admit that he had a good time! This family owned farm is a bit outside of Asheville, but is a great stop if you love animals and have some extra time in the area. You can schedule a visit to the farm and meet all the Highland Cows! Someone from the farm will come with you and arm you with treats and brushes to get the most cow cuddles and kisses. 10/10 experience!

Biltmore Estate

Biltmore Estate

Asheville, NC 28803

Okay, okay ... we will admit we have never actually been to Biltmore because we didn't know you had to pay to just drive up to the estate BUT it is one of the top tourist destinations in the area and is worth the visit if you're into gardens and big 'ol mansions! Also all the stores in Biltmore Village are gorgeous (like literally the prettiest McDonalds the world has ever seen).

Asheville Drum Circle

Asheville Drum Circle

67 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Every Friday night people join together in Pritchard Park to play drums and dance and vibe out. To those seeing this for the first time - you're going to be shocked and maybe a bit weirded out but it is truly an awesome part of Asheville culture. Think Philly Elmo - at first you're like what? But then you fall in love with the idea and it becomes a staple in your city.

Blue Ridge Mountains

Blue Ridge Mountains

Now we are not much of hikers (just ask Kate Leahey how Lexi reaaaally feels about hiking) but the Blue Ridge Mountains are absolutely stunning and a huge reason why people come down to Asheville. The link here will provide information on different hikes, waterfalls, and look outs. Just remember - if you hear something calling your name in the woods, no you didn't!

Bojangles

Bojangles

99 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Okay, now this one is a bit ridiculous but this is one of our favorite fast food chains and a must stop whenever we're below the Mason Dixon. The order - 4 piece Supreme Dinner, Cajun Fries (Lexi prefers Bo-tato Rounds), Sweet Tea (sweet tea always!).

Cook Out

Cook Out

251 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805

Now this is NO joke - Cook Out is the best of the best (the real ones know). No trip to the Southern US is complete without a Cook Out tray. The Ryan Order: Beef Quesadilla tray, Cajun Fries, Ranch Wrap, Huge Tea. The Lexi Order: Big Double Burger tray, Cheese Curds, Cajun Wrap, Huge Tea (duh). Lexi and Ryan are being super vulnerable releasing their Cook Out tray orders like this so be nice!!!!!
