Vortexes are spots where energy is believed to project out of the earth. They’re said to exist at a few sacred spots around the world, including Sedona. In fact, the entire city is considered a vortex. There are specific places where the energy is said to be especially strong though, like Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and Boynton Canyon. These are great places to meditate, practice yoga, or just soak up the vibes.

1.5 miles round-trip, the scramble up to CR isn't long,but that doesn't mean it's easy. Some highlights from the trail: Schnebly Hill Formation: a layer of rock deposited by ancient sand dunes and seas, the feature is named after T.C> and Sedona Schnebly who built the area's first hotel, general store and post office. Secret Canyon Trail: shady & sandstone ravine The Mace: a freestanding spire in the Cathedral Rock formation.
