Things To Do

Welcome to “our summer place” – where the White Mountains meet the Saco River. As many of you know, we spent our summers in Fryeburg, Maine, and we can’t wait for you to come experience the magic of camp. The White Mountains have so many outdoor activities to choose from: hiking, camping, golfing, fishing, canoeing, camping, family attractions, and scenic train tours. North Conway is immersed with great restaurants, local cafes, breweries, and tax-free shopping. Here is a list of our favorite places to visit and things to do while you are in town with tips & more!
Hike to a Waterfall

Hike to a Waterfall

Arethusa Falls Trail, Hart's Location, NH 03812

Crawford Notch is home to some of the best hiking in the White Mountains. Want to enjoy nature at its finest? Hike to Arethusa Falls! The 2.8-mile hike is moderately challenging and takes an average of 2 hours to complete. The 140-foot waterfall is one of the tallest and we think one of the most beautiful in New England.

Echo Lake State Park

Echo Lake State Park

68 Echo Lake Road, Conway, NH 03860

Echo Lake State Park in North Conway is a lovely spot for a relaxing visit near North Conway. This state park is a day destination, and many visitors come here to have a picnic and swim in the lake. Outside the summer season, few people swim and you can enjoy glassy reflections of the surrounding ledges. Arguably the easiest hike in the White Mountains is around Echo Lake — it’s about a 10-minute flat walk. If you’ve got young kids, this can be a good spot to introduce the concept of hiking with very low stakes! It costs $4 for adults and $2 for children to visit the state park. Parking is limited but you can make reservations ahead of time, which we especially recommend if it’s a summer weekend.

Visit Zeb's General Store

Visit Zeb's General Store

2675 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH 03860

Zeb's is located in Downtown North Conway. This quirky nostalgic general store sells homemade soda, fudge, snacks, and more. Zeb’s is a place where you can still get “penny candy” (no longer a penny a piece, but close). It's truly a fun experience for families. The goal of the store is to take you back in time to when general stores were more commonplace in the US. Here you can enjoy the old-fashioned candy counter and antique displays with over 5,000 different New England made specialty products.

Shopping at Settlers Green

Shopping at Settlers Green

2 Common Court, Conway, NH 03860

Settler's Green is New England's largest tax-free shopping outlet. Enjoy mountain views as you shop nationally known brands, local boutiques, and local eats.

Visit Jockey Cap

Visit Jockey Cap

116 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, ME 04037

A Luke & Lex Local Favorite! Jockey Cap is a country store located down the road from camp. Jockey Cap has self-serve iced/hot coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pizza slices, fresh grab-n-go cold sandwiches and salads, fresh pastries, whoopie pies, and other tasty treats. Behind the store, you can walk up a 10-minute trail and reach the top of Jockey Cap, a historical landlord with panoramic mountain views and also the place where Luke proposed to Lex!

Frontside Coffee Roasters

You should also come here for a full meal, because we love the food at Moat Mountain. The only downside - they don't take reservations. We recommend calling ahead to see if they have availability or depending on the size of your party, be prepared to grab a drink at the bar or wait outside!
