Things To Do
Hiking Trails
November is a beautiful time of year in AZ for a hike! We recommend Piestewa Peak or Camelback Mountain for a good sweat and even better views. For beginners, Papago Park has lots of walking trails and the famous Hole in the Rock that are equally as gorgeous.
Golf Courses
AZ is one of the most popular destinations for golfers year round! 500 Club, Papago, Raven & Legacy are some of Mike's favorite courses. Mini golf at Popstroke or a round of night golf at Grass Clippings is also a blast!
Breweries & Taphouses
Trying new beers is one of our favorite things to do together! If you want to pretend you're a beer connoisseur like we do, download the Untappd app and rate any of the beers you try at the places we love below. Wandering Tortoise is a great taphouse near our place with rotating taps. They almost always have a food truck outside and if beer isn't your thing, their frose is a must try! Angel's Trumpet, Pedalhaus & AZ Wilderness are three breweries all clustered together in downtown Phoenix - close to our reception venue! Other than seeing a Diamondbacks or Suns game, this is our favorite way to enjoy downtown. All three breweries have countless options and delicious food to go with your brews!
Bars & Casual Hangs
Trevor's Arcadia has become one of our favorite places to hang out with friends or catch a game. They have rotating taps, cocktails & an entire liquor store selection to choose from (and enjoy right then and there!) We recommend any of their pizzas & a Caesar salad to pair with your drink of choice. OHSO & The Porch are both great casual dining options especially if you want to enjoy the weather on a patio and watch a game! The Starving Artist is a new neighborhood hotspot that just opened walking distance to our apartment! It's the perfect place for a casual, yet trendy vibe. Great for a bite to eat or just a quick drink. Coach House is an iconic bar in Scottsdale, especially during the holiday season. Think simple dive bar with every inch covered in lights! And yes, there is always Old Town Scottsdale if you've never experienced that before! Our favorite bars in Old Town are Boondocks, Pattie's, Rusty Spur & Grapevine (for karaoke!).
Food Favorites
Taco Boyz is our guilty pleasure food whenever we're downtown. It's the closest thing to authentic Mexican street tacos we've found! It's usually packed but with good reason. Buck & Rider is a finer dining experience that we love for date nights & birthdays. We crave their dinner rolls (don't sleep on these), oysters & the One Night in Babylon cocktail! Dick’s Hideaway is hidden gem serving New Mexican cuisine in a cozy space with a rustic feel. Our personal favorite is their carne adovada. They charge a fee to split entrees but you won’t want to share!
