FAQs

Question

Do I have to stay on Seabrook Island Property?

Answer

Short answer: Of course not! Whatever works best for your budget/PTO schedule. Longer answer: Staying on the property will provide access to the amenities of the club. This includes the pool, restaurants at the beach club, ability to book tee times, use the tennis courts, etc. At this time our tentative plan is to spend Saturday after the wedding at the pool and the surrounding restaurants, so if it's important to you to spend that day hanging out with us (we want to spend as much time with everyone as possible), having access to the pool will be important. However, if you're going to want to go explore Charleston, this might not be as much of a priority for you! :)

Question

When is the deadline for booking a house?

Answer

The venue coordinator at Seabrook said that to be safe, rental houses should be booked a year out, so this means June 11, 2026. This isn't a DEADLINE by any means, it's just the best way to ensure availability.

Question

I found a great house with a John's Island Address, not Seabrook Island. Is that on property?

Answer

It might be! When booking a house on one of the rental property companies, it's important to read the description and make sure it's within the Seabrook Island gates. The descriptions should mention something about an "amenity card" or access to the Seabrook Island Amenities. The rental companies are usually very responsive when called or emailed with questions if you are unsure!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We have been assured that Uber and Lyft will work, you will just need to schedule ahead of time. Usually there's a "note for driver" option in these apps, and you just need to tell them that at the gate they mention the Mitra wedding and they will be let in to pick you up! For those of you staying within the Seabrook Island Gates, the transportation situation is TBD.

Question

I want to get in on a big house, but it's just me and my partner. How do I know who else is coming?

Answer

Text us! We are happy to connect people to go in on a house together if they are interested!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We will be having an adults-only wedding! (We love all of our little sweeties very much, we will just have to hug them another time!)

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We will be having a formal dress code at our wedding. We have been calling it "beachy formal." To us, this means you should still dress how you would for a formal wedding but within those normal "formal" parameters, feel free to lean a little bit into the relaxed beachy theme. The more color the better! (You KNOW Katie's brother would be in his seersucker suit and refusing to wear a tie! ) Men: Suits preferred, ties optional, jackets encouraged. Please no shorts or jeans, but all colors welcome. Women: Patterns and colors encouraged. Please no shorts or jeans. Long or midi length recommended, but light and flowy would work great. Idk, I (Katie) hate being told what to wear. Please don't wear jeans or shorts, but other than that you do you boo. If all of this has just confused you more and/or you're a visual learner, here ya go: https://pin.it/68kMtXpy8

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We addressed your invitation the people who are on our guest list for the festivities of June 11! Anyone whose name is written on the envelope is welcome to the ceremony and reception on June 11. If you need to bring someone with you to South Carolina who is NOT on the invitation, we kindly ask they have an alternate activity planned for June 11, as they are not part of the headcount for our ceremony and reception.
