We're getting married!

As nerdy engineers, we met in our natural habitat: online. But really where do you meet someone nowadays? Levi lived in Oklahoma, and Cassie in Arkansas. Our first date was at a little German restaurant in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, which was as close to halfway as we could get. A lunch date turned into a walk around the park and neighboring university which then turned into ice cream in downtown. It's safe to say that's one right swipe we won't regret!

The story of our engagement includes a lot of changed plans, wildfires, and one cute puppy dog! We went out to San Diego for Labor Day weekend and to visit Cassie's family. To our unfortunate pleasure, a wildfire broke out just a few miles away from her parent's house. We spent most of the weekend on standby ready to evacuate, so that meant our plans of going down to the beach for a hike at Sunset Cliffs was cancelled. Levi was quick on his feet and changed his plans. He convinced Cassie to still dress up to take nice pictures out in the backyard. Right before taking pictures, Levi ran back inside to grab Cooper (Cassie's dog). When he came outside, Cooper had a tuxedo bandana with a pocket. That's when Cassie finally figured out what was going on. Levi knelt down on one knee and pulled a ring box out of the pocket in Coop's tuxedo bandana. After the excitement, the backyard gate clicked. Cassie looked over to see one of her high school friends come out of hiding. She and her husband had been secretly taking pictures of the engagement. Spoiler alert: she said "yes"!
