Wedding Party

Allow us to introduce our incredible wedding party—an extraordinary group of family and dear friends who have played a pivotal role in our lives and love story. Their unwavering support and love have been essential in bringing us to this moment.

Yanira Izaguirre

Matron of Honor

Some people call her my sister, but I call her my best friend! Not only has she supported me through some difficult times, but has celebrated with me on my best moments. She may drive me crazy at times, but she has shown me nothing but unconditional love!

Saul Ramos

Best Man

Saul has touched the hearts of many people, but he has healed mine. Whenever I was sad, saul's hugs made me smile. He has demonstrated to me that nothing is impossible. He has shown so much courage and determination, and as his older sister, it only motivated me to be a better version of myself.

Kiana Ichinotsubo

Maid of Honor

A friendship with Kiana started with "whatʻs your plans after graduation?" If thereʻs someone thatʻs "down for anything" it is Kiana. No idea is too crazy between us because Kiana finds a way. If she can plan commencement with a binder of tags and tabs - canʻt wait for her to be by my side and making sure Iʻm hydrated, fed, and with a nap. Easy peasy.

Matthew Arellano

Best Man

Matt and Shara’s friendship kicked off in a fun and surprising way at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where Shara was Matt’s advisor. What started as simple advice about school quickly turned into something much more. They discovered they had a lot in common, and their chats about classes soon included everything from hobbies to life dreams. Shara’s friendly support made Matt feel right at home, and together they tackled the ups and downs of college life. Before they knew it, their advisor-student relationship had transformed into a close friendship filled with laughter, adventures, and a bond that promised to last a lifetime. It just goes to show that sometimes, the best friendships form in the most unexpected places!

Brenda Alvarez

Maid of Honor

We say we are besties, but I think of her as my sister. It was dance that gravitated us together and the rest was history. If there is one person that has been there for all my best and worst moments, it is this girl! She has picked me up when I needed it, defended me against anyone, and we have definitely exchanged too many laughs with one another. Even though we are distant from one another, she is one of the few people I can count on being there for me!

Luis Gonzalez

Man of Honor

2007 was a year of so many accomplishments, but also the start of this amazing friendship! Not only did he help me grow as a person, but we supported each other through our journeys. He was my motivator to do better for myself and to learn to love myself. Whether i was wrong or right, he always supported me in everything. Not to mention the love for dance that we have. We had some crazy, wild nights when we were younger, and one of the few that will still enjoy a night out with me!

Stephanie Vera

Maid of Honor

This girl is the reason I became a nurse! We started the journey together, and even though we ended up on different paths, she was one of my primary motivators to finish! She reasoned with all my conflicts, and she tamed me when I needed to focus on my future. She is someone that I can run to when I'm sad, and she always has a way of making me happy. She always says the right things to make me smile, and we have made so many wonderful memories aside our distance from one another.

Susie Martinez

Maid of Honor

Best friends since second grade, but soul sisters forever! Together, we helped each other grow, we helped one another through our heartbreaks, and we celebrated all of our milestones! We watched each other grow, and were there to support each other through every grade level. Even though we are distant from one another, we just gravitate to one another! She has proven to me that true friends do exist!

Veronica Cavazos

Maid of Honor

We are both appreciative of our old workplace cause it brought us together and this crazy friendship we have! It was during a boring training that we started chatting and the rest was over! After that day, our nightshifts were filled with laughter, jokes and long deep conversations about life. We grew together as baby nurses, and together supported each other through many stressful shifts. She has proven to be a person that i can call at any time, especially for "chisme".

Raul Ramos

Bridesman

Two little beautiful souls (my nephew and niece) call him dad, but I call him brother. It was his determination that inspired me to finish my studies and to become a better person. I couldn’t let him beat me, but I am glad he did cause it just built him to be the father he is now.

Alejandra Ramos

Bridesmaid

Mother to the most cutest kids ever! She is definitely the mediator for the family when its needed. She's the person that shara ran to for suggestions, and our most supportive cheerleader! Legally she's my sister in law, but I think of her as a sister.

Joshua Izaguirre

Bridesman

He is the newest member of the family, but we have known him for years! A person that keeps any talk going and likes to share facts of just about anything. One of the few people to be able to have a full conversation with shara.

Luis Alvarez

Bridesman

He is my besties husband, but also our newest confidant! He is the guy that knows how to have a good time, and never says no to gathering at any time. He not only embraced the island, but is the one that has shown the most interest in coming back and enjoy its wonders. Both me and shara enjoy his company, and even though he is not the best dancer, he will be the life of the party at our wedding!

Mando Gonzalez

Bridesman

Mando's hugs are unmatchable! He is my best friend's husband and the person who gives me the best beauty tips! He has been there to listen to my problems and helps me make the right decision. We have celebrated the most memorable milestones of me and shara , and had some wild club nights!

Ben Mendoza

Bridesman

He is the wisest of our friend group, he is always the person to knock some sense to us, but yet the wildest friend of the group! So appreciative that we got introduced and that i get to enjoy all the crazy talks we have. Let’s not mention all the wheezing laughs we have when we have some cocktails!

Eric Tejada

Bridesman

Eric provides Shara with the laughter or jokes. As a former student of Shara, heʻs been someone she can count on (although his gf is Kiana - heʻs voluntold to do things). That could include bringing her a 7-11 pork hash or calling bingo, heʻs been someone that can turn a stressful situation into fun. He knows how to keep things light and steps up when thereʻs stuff to do.

Pua Baker

Matron of Honor

Meet Darcine, aka Shara’s cousin Pua— her partner in crime since they’re only a day and a year apart! Pua is also the proud mom of Shara’s favorite (🤨) nephew, Ezekiel. We could tell so many stories and adventures, but we’re keeping it brief for now. Just wait until you see Pua’s passion for Tahitian dance at our events—it will be a highlight!

Nikki Erece

Bridesmaid

Sharaʻs lawyer friend from Hilo. Their friendship grew from the common friendship with Kiana. Later that bond grew from getting early morning breakfast, random trips to Las Vegas, and graduating with our professional degrees in 2024. Although Nikki is currently serving and will be stationed in Arizona - canʻt wait for her to come home and celebrate this occasion with the reunion of #spiralsquad!

Chaika Ganiron

Bridesmaid

Shara and Chaika have been friends since elementary school. She is the younger twin of Chey, and you could say that weʻve grown up together. From Kapālama hills to Hilo, we may not see each other every day or month, but we pick up conversation like time hasnʻt passed. Often called upon to be my +1 at events, weʻll continue to grow old with each other. Mahalo true friend.

Chey Ganiron

Bridesmaid

Shara and Chey have known each other since elementary school - in fact standing next to each other in our 4th grade class photo. The older twin of Chaika, Cheyʻs words of encouragement for Shara was always on point. Sheʻs been a friend through different chapters of my life and friendship has been a text away.

Dr. Kat Onorato

Bridesmaid

Shara and Kat’s friendship began in 2013 when Kat joined the team as a Graduate Resident Director at Creighton, alongside Shara. New to Omaha, Kat quickly became the go-to for finding fun (and free!) activities around the city, always encouraging the grad team to step outside their comfort zones and try something new. Over the years, Shara and Kat have stayed in touch, offering each other unwavering support as they both continued their doctoral journeys. Now, Shara can’t wait to hear Kat’s words of encouragement as she celebrates another milestone in her life.

Kaleo Kaleohano

Officiant

Kaleo is our officiant but also a part of Sharaʻs bridesquad. From the day that Shara met Kaleo, they hit it off having so much in common. When Shara introduced Lety to Kaleo, she walked away by saying, "one day, he will officiate our wedding." Kaleo understands when Shara needs a chill day to recharge and relax, or weʻre enjoying pupus and live music. He may grace us with a hula or two.
