UPDATE

Unfortunately, love hasn’t been the only thing infectious!

As many of you all know, we originally planned to have our wedding December 2020. However, Covid had other plans for all of us! Rob and I would like to first start by apologizing for any inconvenience this may have caused you all. We can not thank you enough for your patience and understanding. It was out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of everyone, that we originally decided to postpone. With our new date now set, and vaccines beginning to be readily available to the public, we hope to celebrate with you! A wedding so nice, we planned it twice! ;-)

How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage!

Rob and I first met in debate class at HCC. The class was divided into two groups for the entire semester. As many of you all know, we're both head-strong people. So of course it only made sense that Rob would chose to be the team leader of one group and I of the other. I can recall numerous "fights" with Rob, all of which were playful. There definitely was an undeniable flirtation between us as we pretended to "dislike" one another. I'm pretty sure I made the first move on Rob when he started talking about his hookah. It provided the perfect opportunity to meet up outside the classroom. Surprisingly, a hookah bar wasn't our first date though. Instead, it was Denny's! Rob showed up in his motorcycle and rugid boots! It was in that moment that I knew I got suckered! This girl was going to fall in love. 😍

The Proposal

One Tequila, Two Tequila, Six Tequila, Bed!

In June/ July 2019 Rob and I took a family vacation to Puerto Vallarta (PV). Little did I know we would be engaged by the end of it. However, the proposal itself didn't come easy! Poor guy never gave up! Plan A was to propose to me at a hotel separate from his parents. Something he asked me to reserve a month before our vacation. I never thought much of it, procrastinated as usual, and failed to book one. Not surprising if you know me! Ruining his first idea. Plan B was heading to a small island near PV. It turned out, the small island was now private and although you could visit by boat, you couldn't actually go on its beach where he originally planned to kneel. Shutting down another idea. Plan C was going on an excursion-- a one hr hike to a beautiful waterfall. However, the night before I felt ill, woke him up at 4a crying, asking him to cancel all the plans for that day. To which he did of course.

The Proposal Continued

Plan D was taking time seperate from his parents to enjoy a small city outside PV called Bucerias. That day we would go explore shops and bars and have a nice massage on the beach where Rob intended on finally proposing. For those that don't know, I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE me some tequila! And when in Mexico, you drink like a Mexican! I must of had six shots of tequila before the massage which didn't go well with Rob and his next plan. What can you do though? You can't deny a gal tequila in Mexico and not look suspicious? So he let yet another plan go as we headed back to our Airbnb. In one last attempt, Rob requested that we get ready for a nice dinner. He knows I take forever so he insisted I get ready first. In the meantime, he laid out by the pool. 4 hrs later, Rob realized I hadn't come outside. When he finally went to look for me, I was passed out in bed! The tequila shots kicked in and took over! :D Rob tried convincing me to get dressed and ready, but I replied, "No, I'm fine with eating cereal." By this time, there wasn't much else he could offer or do. So he went to his money pouch and in this tiny little pocket he took out this beautiful ring and told me how much he had tried to make his proposal special. Little did he know, in that moment it was as special as I ever wanted it to be. He popped the question, and I finally got the chance to say yes!

Fast Forward

10 years in the making, Rob and I couldn't be in a better place! He has established himself as an excellent Engineer for a valve company and I continue to explore the many roles of Nursing. We are the proud parents of one the smartest dogs we know, Leo also known as "Puppy". Although we are not able to bring him along our trip, he knows his mom and dad are ecstatic to share vows. We really wish that everyone could join us but we understand that may not be feasible. Please know for those who can not make it, your presence will be missed! For those who can, I hope you're ready to party! As much as we enjoy being mellow individuals, we also know how to turn up the music! Can't wait to celebrate with you all!
